It’s sort of spring in the desert already or at least we’re getting some flowers again. I think we really have two growing seasons with a “winter” of hot weather between the two. I’m still trying to figure that out. At any rate, I was happy to see a plethora of yellow flowers during my last visit to the Preserve, just in time for Jude’s challenge this month of “Yellow.” I love yellow everywhere but in my clothes. It makes my skin look sallow, so I enjoy it from afar or not so far, just not on me. While I’m at it, I might as well link to Cee’s Flower of the Day challenge as well. 🙂

Such a happy colour, but I agree not in clothes next to the face
I’d love to have a kitchen painted yellow. 🙂
I have yellow walls in most of the house.
Bright and pretty!
Spotting these was a great way to start my walk. 🙂
I hope it set the tone for the rest of your walk!
A little beauty. A joyous image to start off my day. Thanks Janet
Entirely my pleasure, Debbie.
Love this image!
Thanks, Sue!
😊😊😊
So pretty Janet!
Thanks, Aletta.
Beautifully done, Janet. 🙂 🙂 It’s a little the same here- not with the flowers, but certainly the fruit trees. Oranges and lemons are pretty much year round.
I miss the great variety of apples we had in the Midwest, but I love having such wonderful citrus almost year ’round.
I love the lighting in this picture. I love yellow, but like you I do not wear it – it does nothing for me.
The flower is pretty, but the photo itself with the background is beautiful.
Thanks, Judy. The whole being more than the sum of its parts. 🙂
A lovely photo Janet, great light. Like you I cannot wear yellow, but I have been known to paint rooms in shades of it.
A happy image to start my day. Do I detect a slight hue of yellow surrounding the flowers?
All the yellows that aren’t actually on the flower are from the sunlight. Not sure if that’s what you meant, but…
Just when blue was my favorite color …… Now it’s yellow.
🙂 Lovely compliment. Thanks.
Of course if you post something pink tomorrow, I may have to reconsider. 😉
This is exquisite!
Thanks so much, Mary Jo. ❤
I love that backlight! Are those Leafystem Coreopsis?
I can’t wear any of the yellow shades I’ve tried well either, but I have painted two rooms in a lovely shade of yellow in my lifetime. The first was my very first private bedroom. I was 14 when I got my own room and my Mom and I painted it a sunny shade of yellow, and then my Mom dyed my bedspread to match. My trim was white, but the accent color for accessories was orange. My mom found a rug in the perfect shade of yellow and orange, and my dad painted a beautiful fall tree on a big canvas for my center art piece. I loved that room! The painting has been lost over the years sadly.
Not sure if that’s they are, Deborah. I did this late last night and just wanted to get the post done. 🙂
We had a yellow-walled kitchen in Ohio and I think that’s a perfect place for yellow. Your room sounds wonderful.
Such a beautiful photo. So soft. It makes me miss summer. 131 days!!! 🙂
Thanks, Freda. I’m glad you liked it.

Sweet pic, Janet! Lucky you to be feeling springish! We have more snow in the forecast this week! (I am not complaining!) 🌞
Hmmm, if you get more, I may have to seize the moment and drive up. I need a snow fix. Do you have much now or has it mostly melted?
My front yard faces south, so it’s almost completely gone. But yesterday we went for a bike ride in surrounding neighborhoods and there are still snow banks between 2 and 5 feet high! We are going out to hike one of our favorite trails today, so I can let you know how it looks a little later. 🌞
Looks like lots of choices for coffee shops as well. Do you have a favorite?
The trail in Flagstaff had between 3 & 6 inches of snow pack most of the 1.6 miles. We wore our yak tracks and it was no problem. Which area are you visiting? 🌞
I have no idea. I was planning to come to Prescott to meet you, at least I thought that’s where you were. Are you in Flag?
Yes, I am in Flag for now.
Well, I haven’t been to Flag either. 😉
It’s beautiful! Are you open to checking it out?
Definitely. Can’t do it this week, though. What’s next week look like for you?
Can I email you my phone number so we can text??
Please do. My email should be with my gravatar I think. If not, let me know.
I am unable to find it. Can you tell me how I might click into it?
Got it & emailed you! 👍
I would offer to meet you in Prescott, but I have work tomorrow. 🤓
I saw this in my email. I thought it was gorgeous and for Jude’s challenge. 😀 😀
It’s for both challenges. Double-dipping. 😊
Beautiful, peaceful shot Janet. I used to wear a lot of pale lemon and thought I looked good in it. I noticed a very long time ago that charity shops seem to be full of yellow clothes. I guess changing room lighting is really flattering!!
Ha! Just like bathroom lights, eh?
Hehe.
There’s something so beautiful about that quality of light, the way it gently paints the petals, as if caressing the flowers themselves. Another one that’s frame-worthy, for sure.
Many thanks, Hannah. ❤
Good to see something with color.
Even here I understand that.
So pretty!
Thanks!
I love yellow
It’s so cheerful, isn’t it?

Haha offcourse 👻
This is such a lovely photo 🙂
Thanks, Ritva. ❤
