It’s sort of spring in the desert already or at least we’re getting some flowers again. I think we really have two growing seasons with a “winter” of hot weather between the two. I’m still trying to figure that out. At any rate, I was happy to see a plethora of yellow flowers during my last visit to the Preserve, just in time for Jude’s challenge this month of “Yellow.” I love yellow everywhere but in my clothes. It makes my skin look sallow, so I enjoy it from afar or not so far, just not on me. While I’m at it, I might as well link to Cee’s Flower of the Day challenge as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

Such a happy colour, but I agree not in clothes next to the face

A little beauty. A joyous image to start off my day. Thanks Janet

    Love this image!

Beautifully done, Janet. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a little the same here- not with the flowers, but certainly the fruit trees. Oranges and lemons are pretty much year round.

I love the lighting in this picture. I love yellow, but like you I do not wear it – it does nothing for me.

  6. The flower is pretty, but the photo itself with the background is beautiful.

A lovely photo Janet, great light. Like you I cannot wear yellow, but I have been known to paint rooms in shades of it.

  8. A happy image to start my day. Do I detect a slight hue of yellow surrounding the flowers?

Just when blue was my favorite color …… Now it’s yellow.

  10. I love that backlight! Are those Leafystem Coreopsis?

I can’t wear any of the yellow shades I’ve tried well either, but I have painted two rooms in a lovely shade of yellow in my lifetime. The first was my very first private bedroom. I was 14 when I got my own room and my Mom and I painted it a sunny shade of yellow, and then my Mom dyed my bedspread to match. My trim was white, but the accent color for accessories was orange. My mom found a rug in the perfect shade of yellow and orange, and my dad painted a beautiful fall tree on a big canvas for my center art piece. I loved that room! The painting has been lost over the years sadly.

    • Not sure if that’s they are, Deborah. I did this late last night and just wanted to get the post done. ๐Ÿ™‚

We had a yellow-walled kitchen in Ohio and I think that’s a perfect place for yellow. Your room sounds wonderful.

  11. Such a beautiful photo. So soft. It makes me miss summer. 131 days!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Sweet pic, Janet! Lucky you to be feeling springish! We have more snow in the forecast this week! (I am not complaining!) ๐ŸŒž

I saw this in my email. I thought it was gorgeous and for Jude’s challenge. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Beautiful, peaceful shot Janet. I used to wear a lot of pale lemon and thought I looked good in it. I noticed a very long time ago that charity shops seem to be full of yellow clothes. I guess changing room lighting is really flattering!!

  15. There’s something so beautiful about that quality of light, the way it gently paints the petals, as if caressing the flowers themselves. Another one that’s frame-worthy, for sure.

  16. Dan Antion says:

Good to see something with color.

  17. This is such a lovely photo ๐Ÿ™‚

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
