Pre-Thanksgiving at Descanso Gardens wasn’t as verdant as spring or summer, but the rose garden was, if not in full bloom, at least in blooming health. There was a choice of colors but today’s color is yellow, just for Jude and the flower is for Cee’s FOTD.
“It was June, and the world smelled of roses. The sunshine was like powdered gold over the grassy hillside.”
― Maud Hart Lovelace, Betsy-Tacy and Tib
“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

Thanks to Arthur Conan Doyle, The Naval Treaty for the quote in the title.
Isn’t it? I never know what shade I like best 🙂 🙂
Probably whichever one you’re looking at at the moment. 😉🌹💐🌷
what a beauty!
The whole rose garden was just beautiful.
A gorgeous rose for sure. Did like the quotes very much.
Thanks, Peggy, and happy Friday.
Beautiful and welcome on this below zero day. 🙂
If we were still in Naperville, we’d be on the same temperature boat. In the low 50’s now and on the way to almost 70 here. Stay safe and warm!
Ah, June and roses…
Or in Southern California, November and roses. 🥰
A couple of mine were still flowering in December!
I concur wholeheartedly!
😊
I love the soft details in the petals. Great photo.
Thanks, Dan. Glad you liked it. Happy Friday.
Soft, warm, and special. 🙂
Thanks, Frank. Welcome to Friday. 😉
I like The Little Prince quote and think of it often in the context of my blog! 🤓
😉. Ha! I completely understand that!!
Love those perfect scalloped edges!
Little details add so much, don’t they? Thanks for dropping in and for the comment as well.

Beautiful, Janet! I have nominated you for the Outstanding Blogger Award. (http://microofthemacro.com/2021/02/12/outstanding-blogger-award/). If you don’t wish to or simply cannot participate, no worries at all. Just showing my appreciation for you and your blog! 🌞
I’m honored, Lisa. I read your post and want to respond there when I have a bit more time. I appreciate the nomination, whether or not I do anything about it.
It looks perfect. The quotes are lovely too.
I know I’ve said this before, but one of the things I enjoy about the internet is being able to find so many quotes about a subject so easily. 🙂
It is handy for that too! 😀
Oh Janet what a gorgeous photo for today 😀
Thanks, Cee. 🙂
Such an exquisite flower. I love roses in every color. 😍
Glad you like it, Sylvia. There were some beauties there.
Just wonderful, Janet – and bright yellow!
It was a lovely sight and so cheerful.
Gorgeous! I forget just how many different types of roses there are, far beyond the predictable white, pink, and red. What a spectacular example of that diversity.
Rose diversity is the best. 💐
I just love yellow roses Janet!!
They really are beautiful.
💐
both quotes and the title were a great fit for this stunning single yellow rose
😊☀️
Thanks. Glad you liked both.
Yes, indeed, what a lovely thing a rose is. And your photo is so very lovely, too, Janet.
A perfect bloom
Wasn’t it? 🙂
The Little Prince – literally my favorite book of all time. Read it first in French class and a hundred times since. Every page is a quote worth repeating – including this one. Beautiful, beautiful image Janet.
Thanks, Tina. I hope all’s well with you two.
Roses are very lovely, and yellow ones are my favorite.
Then I’m glad I could make you happy, Miki. 🙂
