Although the first several days of my southern California vacation were windy, cloudy, and a bit chilly, the sun finally came out, both in San Diego and in Redondo Beach and a good time was had by all. One of my daughter’s and my daily activities was taking a long walk, either by the beach or through neighborhoods with beautiful homes (and doors)…or both. We couldn’t see much of this house but they did have a lovely gate and some great planters and when there’s a four-lane road on the other side of the sidewalk, you want as much privacy as possible. Of course the other side, high above the beach and beach path, has a fantastic ocean view.
(Addendum: Due to traveling last Thursday, I forgot about the writing component of this week’s doors. Feel free to use any of these three doors as a writing prompt if you are so moved.)

If you have the money to have a home right at the edge of the hill overlooking the beach, you can also to afford enough vehicles to fill three garage spaces or perhaps you use one space for storage. But you definitely want your garage doors to match your gate.

Whatever vehicles went in those garage spots, this probably wasn’t one of them. I don’t think many people have a garage long enough for this classic beauty and certainly not with anything stored in front of it. We spotted this at the farmer’s market and it was in pristine condition.

One proud owner? π π Glad you had a good trip.
We saw the owner getting out and let him know how much we liked his ride. π
Interesting selection
Glad you enjoyed them, Sheree.

Loved the doors. Wow, that car is huge – I use to drive cars like that. No garage of today would hold them.
My parents had a station wagon that was probably that long as well. I’m happy to drive something a bit smaller, especially when it comes to parking and then especially if having to parallel park! Yikes! You’d need a gigantic space.
Love that classic!
You and me both, Teresa. π
That is some garage … Oh my … look at that land yacht! …
That car’s definitely a boat (in the automotive size sense) but what a beauty!
Great finds, Janet. That car might be pristine but so are those garages (or should I say ‘pristone’)?
I think I’ll go with pristine, Jean. π
The gate and the garage doors are beautiful, Janet. The car brings back memories when those sailed through our towns – such a classic – π
Wood doors are just so much nicer looking than other doors as far as I’m concerned and that car! Glad I don’t have to parallel park that baby, though!
Haha – yeah, parallel parking that boat would be a challenge.
Even putting it in a regular parking space would be iffy because it wouldn’t really fit. Much too long.
Oh, I want a 3 car garage! I’d have a quad or side by side and kayaks filling up the 3rd space.
That car was a neat find too! Thanks for taking us along for this portion of your walks.
We were blessed to have a three-car garage with our rental house and that extra space is particularly welcome when the house doesn’t have a basement or attic. I can store things there and my husband can have all his bikes and bike-related things there (and my bike as well.) π
good morning, nice visit, and a picture of a classic from the past.. =^_^=
Good morning and thanks. The car’s really something, isn’t it?
janet
Wow. Who knew matching gate and garage doors were a thing? A bit too matchy-matchy for me…
It doesn’t look bad with all the stone around it, but to each his/her own, right? π I like the gate the better of the sets of doors.
Wow, Janet…
Wait until you see some of the houses we saw by the beach in an area just a short distance from where they live! Multi-million dollar places!
;-D
Love the sunlight on those doors. The car; not so much. My early cars were a Mini and a Morris Minor; Iβve never lost my love for zippy little cars. Though I confess, a land rover (which I also drove back in the day) would be really useful sometimes.
My car was a ’75 VW Super Beetle. Oh, I loved that thing! Now I drive a Toyota Sienna van and love that like mad. It has a bit more room than the VW did and a better heater. π My s-i-l in France drives a Defender and that certainly has its good points!! People on those narrow French roads never contest for space. π
I love Beetles too. I briefly drove one belonging to a friend who was overseas. T had a Fiat Bambina — which is really funny when you know how tall he is!
The weather has been really iffy here in San Diego recently but, today, I think it’s decided to be summer. I’m glad you had some sun while you were visiting. I love the heavy wood gate and matching garage doors!
We were in SD over the weekend and it turned out to be pretty nice and then we got sun Monday and Tuesday in Redondo Beach. Canβt complain. π we had fun.
oh that classic! wow!
