There’s just something about a coneflower.

Monday morning addendum: I see Jo’s calling me out on the pink/purple issue. While I understand where you’re coming from, Jo, I accept the challenge and refer you to the site “40 Shades of Purple“, NOT a site for erotica about kings and other wearers of purple, but where you can see the various, well, shades of purple. To adapt another phrase that had some popularity at one time: One person’s purple is another person’s pink…or vice versa. πŸ™‚

There is! But surely, that’s pink? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    • Calling me out, eh, Jo? Well, I have my rebuttal and if you go back to the post, I’ve added an addendum just for you. πŸ™‚ Truthfully, I understand your thought and I think a) it depends on how the photo comes out on your viewing device and b)…well, you’ll just have to go back and check. πŸ™‚ Happy Friday!

  2. Its two contrast colors stand out. πŸ™‚

I love coneflowers, the purple ones in particular. Our died a few summers ago and I’ve never replaced them. Suddenly I sense a project coming on…

  4. de Wets Wild says:

Being colour-blind I’ve learned not to comment whether I think something is blue or purple or pink, but whatever the case might be it is gorgeous! And very artfully photographed too!

    • I understand the difficulty and I’m not color-blind. If you have a minute to go back to the post, I’ve posted an addendum with a link to a site that shows the varieties of purple, some of which look like what I would call pink. πŸ™‚

      • de Wets Wild says:

Eish… I went and followed your link, Janet. Goodness me, how thankful I am that I didn’t have to go to artschool and learn all those versions of the same colour(s)… Truth be told I could maybe differentiate 3 “groups” based on how dark, medium or lightly they were shaded but what makes them purple (or blue, or pink, or purlueink for that matter) still has me as confused as a chameleon in a Smarties box… which is incidentally a delicious token of appreciation I could give you if I could for your wonderful photograph! Do you know Smarties? https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/smarties-box.html

      • I’ve heard of them and following your link I can see how colorful they are! I can also see the problem a chameleon would have. 😁 But what a sight it would be!!

      • de Wets Wild says:

I wonder if it would be considered animal abuse if I were to try it… πŸ˜€

I adore cone flowers, too! Thanks, Janet!
