Thanks, Dan. The heron loves to perch there, high above everyone and everything else. Other birds go there sometimes as well but I seem to see this one (or another one like it) there fairly often, possibly surveying dinner choices far below.
🙂 He loves to perch way up there and get away from it all. Sometimes this winter the spoonbill would be up there and other birds appear to enjoy it as well. There must be quite a view from that high, although this guy appears to be thinking more about flying down and fishing that relaxing and enjoying it.
The photo. The title was chosen by Debbie, who hosts the One Word Sunday and Six Word Saturday. I went archive diving and found this photo to go with the word.
I’m always fascinated by the way a bird can be perched upon a small branch and still seem like it’s steady. Great capture, Janet. Hope you’re well … Be Safe 😷 … Isadora 😎
Well, that’s a good lean, Janet!
And it was from quite high, although you can’t tell from the photo.
Very good!
Enjoy your singing today.
Oh, I will. Thanks!
I wouldn’t want to be looking up to see that bird leaning and looking down at me. 😦
As it’s leaning from quite a height, you wouldn’t have to worry about it. Even the fish can’t see that high. 🙂
What you can’t see can’t hurt you. So I’ve heard.
Nice photo for the prompt!

It looks like he’s regretting taking that final step closer to the end of his perch!

I can see why you focused on him rather than the height, Janet. What a beauty, and in deep concentration.
Interesting angle on the challenge, funny how birds do the things they do 😃

It is, Carol. Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a wonderful week.
Wow, what a balancing act! I love the golden light.
The post dawn light is often lovely there, Deborah. He looks as if he’s contemplating launching, doesn’t he?
A perfect photo for the title. Which came first, the photo or the title?

Ah ha! Nice find
True! The bird does look a bit thin!
Ha!! Wrong lean, my bird-witted friend. 🙂

Birds do many amazing things, don’t they? I hope all’s well with both of you too.
