Jude’s moved from purple to white as the color of the month, maybe in deference to the white heat of Arizona (106F today). While back in the park during my recent trip to Illinois, I spotted one of a pair of mute swans. My guess is that this is the male and the female is either somewhere sitting on a nest of eggs or hanging out with tiny cygnets. I managed to creep up relatively close to this one by walking along a back path, moving very slowly once I got within sight, and then stay more or less behind some bushes. While beautiful to see, swans are often very aggressive so it’s just as well I wasn’t too close.

He is a beauty. There is something so elegant about swans.

  2. Handsome shot you made there.

    • Thanks, Judy. Are you having another hot one today? I just finished walking as it’s the coolest part of the day–73 at almost 7 am AND it’s only getting to 99 today. Woo, hoo! 🙂

      • We have had four days in a row of sweltering weather. I worked at a MG project this morning for about an hour and a half. No mask, but my glasses kept steaming up so I had to take them off. I was drenched. It’s suppose to cool off to more normal temps tomorrow. 🤞

      • At least we don’t have that humidity. No one could stand it with the temperatures we get in summer. Excessive heat warning is out for Sunday-Friday. Sigh.

  3. What a gorgeous capture, Janet. He’s very princely. 🙂

  4. Beautiful, Janet. It would make a fun painting. 😉 Just sayin’.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  5. Oof, hang in there, and try not to melt! I love the heat but 106 is a bit toasty, even for me.

    • It’s a bit toasty for me as well, but better than where we’re headed next week. I enjoyed the break of cooler weather but more humidity while I was in Illinois and on the drives up and back.

    How graceful! Beautifully captured, Janet!

I love the look he’s giving you! I wouldn’t bet on there being a female around – he looks like a real Don Juan!

Swans are always looking so graceful!
