During my recent trip back to Illinois, I naturally had to take another photo of one of my favorite spots in the park, which works well for showing how trees can lead the eye while creating a beautiful frame for a photo. In this photo, there aren’t a deer and a rabbit, but there are two birds. 🙂
If you’re in Chicago and want to get around without braving the traffic or spending a week’s wages on parking, you can rent one of these blue bicycles, my first entry for this month’s Life in Colour color. And speaking of cycling, anyone else watching the Tour de France? What a first week it’s been!
Wonderful! Thank you 😊
I’m happy you like it.

You are welcome, Janet!
Oh, I love avenues of trees!
They’re beautiful, aren’t they? This one made me happy every time I saw it…which was every day I walked there.
Great!
Janet, I don’t know why I never subscribed to your blog before. Your photos are delightful. I look forward to every post.
Thanks so much. That s a lovely thing to read and started my morning off with a big smile. 😁😉
The trees make a great frame.
I loved that tree-lined avenue. 😉
I love how even large cities can offer place like this to escape. Great photos!
The Chicago area has lots of parks and green spaces and DuPage County where we lived was stellar in that regard. What a blessing that was!
Trees make the best photos, don’ they? The blue bikes are cool
Trees really add to photos and the blue bikes added a great pop of color in the city.
That grass and the tree-lined path is gorgeous.
It is every day. You can see why I miss it. 🙂
I do see why!
I’d enjoy walking through the path. Beautifully captured!
I don’t know how many photos I’ve taken in this same spot, but it’s inviting in all seasons. 🙂
We saw the first accident … but mostly my husband’s been watching Wimbledon,.
That first accident was the worst I’ve seen in all the years we’ve been watching.
I can see why the park view is a favourite, that avenue just makes you want to walk there. And thank you for your first blue! I wouldn’t feel safe on a bike in a city, but then it has been a lot of years since I last rode a bike!
Even riding a bike in Chicago is problematic to me. I always walked.
I would too!
That grove looks so peaceful and calm. No wonder you like to photograph it.
When we lived in Illinois, I walked in that park most mornings of the week. There was always something to see, enjoy, and photograph.

I can imagine myself on that trail through the woods quite easily!
I walked it many, many times and took photos of it in all different seasons and weather. 🙂 It’s just so inviting and is a lovely way to get off the main path and to one a bit less traveled, usually my goal. 🙂
Sounds heavenly, Janet!
It was just right for me.
what a gorgeous #Treesquare
Thanks, Becky. It’s a spot that was near and dear to my heart (and camera) when we lived in Illinois.
Two great pictures for the challenge – and both green, in their own way.
A colorful observation, Susan. 😉. I almost panicked when I read “green” though, wondering for an instant what I’d done wrong. 🤭

I love the tree avenue!
It was probably my favorite spot out of many beautiful ones there.
It is beautiful!
Adore the trees frame! I see the birds!
I’m not a big fan of bicycles. I’ve been hit twice by speeding bicycles, on the sidewalk.
Adult men both times.I called them cowards to their faces. They want the privilege of riding on sidewalks because they are too afraid to ride in traffic. We have bike lanes!
Anyway, hit hard in the same spot on my back. No broken bones, but my back is a mess. PAIN!!!!
I can understand why you’d feel that way. Cyclists should always announce that they’re passing you and on which side but many don’t which is both rude and dangerous.
So pretty
Thanks, Ritva.
