These next weeks I’ll be trying to find blue doors to combine Thursday Doors and Life in Colour: blue. Our younger daughter is currently working in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in the governor’s mansion where she and a number of others are doing restoration of various kinds. She sent me photos of some doors, including this first one, the only blue one. Need I mention that neither of these is from the mansion? πŸ™‚ You’ll have to wait to see those.

There are lots and lots and LOTS of pickups where we lived, some jacked up so high you’d need a stepladder to get in and too many that are quite loud. This one has a different feature to make you look twice and, in this case, smile! Rubber ducky, you’re definitely the one.

Rubber Ducky, you’re so fine
And I’m lucky that you’re mine
Rubber ducky, I’m awfully fond of –
Rubber ducky, I’d like a whole pond of –
Rubber ducky I’m of –
Rubber ducky I’m awfully fond of you!

Oh, yes, don’t forget the blue door. πŸ™‚

    Great response to dual challenge

  2. maybe the people there have breton ancestors? here nearly all doors are blue and we fear for the new people who used green… epic fail, green is the color of normandy LOL

  3. Dan Antion says:

I love the big blue door, but the ribbon goes to the Ducky truck :). Hey, it has doors.

  4. Love the sneaky way you included the second blue door. πŸ™‚

  5. Heyjude says:

Love that first door! A perfect shade of blue.

  6. Well, they are two very different but equally interesting blue doors, Janet.

  7. Jeshie2 says:

This blue door is intriguing! Are the “eyes” holes, or are they painted on? The rubber duckie poem makes me smile. I have noticed you like poetry/music (also in your comment to me last week). Hope your weekend will be relaxed, fun, and the like:) Jeshie2

    • I don’t know about the holes, as I didn’t take the shot. I do enjoy poetry and (some) music. My husband finally isn’t on call this weekend but it’s going to be quite hot, so we may keep a low profile and watch the stages of the Tour de France, as we’re doing every day. πŸ™‚ I hope yours is whatever you’d like it to be.

  8. Ally Bean says:

The blue door, first one, is charming. The blue door, second one, is overshadowed by a duck– and that’s saying something fun!

    • You nailed it, Ally. The second door is literally (at least if the sun’s in the right position) overshadowed by the duck. That scene made me smile and smile…and be sure to take a photo of it. πŸ™‚

  9. slfinnell says:

The kids don’t sing that one anymore. Time to put up my sleeves for another educational moment πŸ™‚

  10. I love the blue door and I didn’t spy a swear word on it!! WOOT!!

  11. Amy says:

    I love the blue door! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  12. Jane Lurie says:

Love the first blue door, Janet and now I’m singing Rubber Ducky. 🐀

  13. I love blue doors! And this one looks like it’s got a face on it – a stern one πŸ™‚
Your daughter is so lucky to do such kind of work πŸ˜‰ Can’t wait to see the other door images she’ll take for you!

I think a thrilled kid will give that rubber ducky a tight hug πŸ™‚

    Thanks, Janet!

    • I think that rubber ducky will take a child floating. It’s a big one.

I’ll have at least one more post of doors our daughter sent and perhaps she’ll find more while she’s there.

hahah – like the old vibe to the opening blu doors
the duck on the truck is fun – and looking forward to seeing the mansion doors ,later –

  15. Anita says:

The blue door has a story to tell and the huge duck gave me a big smile πŸ˜…

  16. Resa says:

I like the way yo live up to these challenges. I see you being very creative. Got any Blue Velvet?
If you do, drape it over a door. Best I can offer! πŸ’™πŸšͺ

  17. I love that first door, too, Janet. And the duck looks like just the thing to be carrying around with the excessive heat you’ve been having! 🌞

    • πŸ™‚ True. The people on either side of us have pools but one of the men told my husband that during the summer it’s like bathwater and not the refreshing. Plus pools are quite an expense. Since we’re in a rental, it doesn’t matter though.

  18. Oh that door! I can see them laugh at me ….

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
