I see lots of morning trees as that’s not only my preferred time of day to be out but also because I always wake up early.

Some cooling blue in downtown Naperville. The fountain looks much like a dandelion and is a place where moms and children enjoy congregating. Don’t you love those sunglasses?

  1. Great opening pic. Thanks for reminding me of the song Cheap Sunglasses.

Ver y nice, Janet. I’m also an early riser. I think its easier to notice the trees when no one is around.

  3. I love the first one Janet!

Morning trees are my favourite too!

Beautiful. What a lovely place to wake up, Janet!

    First shot is stunning, Janet!
Hey, are you living in the heat wave uber hot area?
Getting a lot of news about that up here!

    • We are living through a heat wave, although it’s not as bad as it’s been, only a day here and there over 110. Earlier in the year we had a record number of days over 115, which wasn’t too exciting. But the “low” these days is in the low 90’s, which doesn’t make walking in the morning much fun.

      • Resa says:

        Does global warming play in?
“Something is rotten in the state of Denmark” -Shakespeare.

      • Depends who you ask, I guess.

“This summer has been a scorcher in many parts of the nation, but this sweat-inducing heat has nothing on the highest temperature ever recorded in the United States, the whopping 134 degrees Fahrenheit that sent the mercury soaring in Death Valley on July 10, 1913.”

  7. Lovely top image, Janet. I love the mornings too.
    The last image is fun!

    • Mornings are the best even though right now it’s only about 90/92 for the low. Sigh. Makes me want to get into that fountain back in Naperville. 🙂

      • The A/C kicked on at 7 this morning! It’s going to be hot here too this week, but thankfully, not that hot in the morning. It’s perfect right now at 74 degrees. I’ll be wanting to jump in that fountain this afternoon no doubt! 😀🙃

      • We went to the farmer’s market this morning at 8 am and it was already into the 90’s. I can’t imagine going just before noon when it ends. 111 is the forecast today and we had our first huge dust storm yesterday, although it came at about 10 pm. Horrific winds, so much dust it looked as if it were pouring rain, thunder and lightning. We did get some rain, although I don’t know how much.

      • Yuck! We have had thunder and lightning every afternoon lately. I tried to photograph the lightning yesterday, but botched it. I’ll try again the next time there’s lightning.

The wind was so strong it blew two chairs over, and blew a plant off the table and broke the pot. I hope I can find a new pot for it.

        Stay cool today!!

      • The wind blew over a couple of potted plants I had on the back patio (just in those plastic pots) and blew one of the pots somewhere I couldn’t even find it at night once the wind stopped. My husband found it, so repotting today. Thankfully nothing broke.

I saw part of a rainbow a few days ago…but no rain. I’d prefer the rain. 🙂 As for the AC, it goes off and on all night, even when set at 79. I put it at 80 in the morning.

      • I am thinking about using a basket or something non breakable for the replacement pot.

      • Sounds like a good idea.

  8. de Wets Wild says:

In Afrikaans we have a saying “die oggendstond het goud in die mond” – translates to “the morning has gold in its mouth” – and we use it as a roundabout way of saying that the earlier you start the more you get done. It certainly is a motto of the de Wets. Joubert was about 3 years old when he spent his first night away from Marilize and me, sleeping over at his maternal grandparents. My mother-in-law had such a laugh at him asking “what kind of people sleeps until the sun is up!?” when he eventually managed to rouse the two grandparents! From the mouths of babes… 😀

  9. Mona says:

It’s the best of all times! I was a bit lazy … or too cozy to go outside today but sitting here by my east facing window, enjoying the first light of day & listening to the birds which is almost as good

    Beautiful shots ♡
