But where does the tree end and the water begin?

And in related water news, we’ve actually had much-needed and appreciated rain in the last week or so. When you only get 9″ per year, every little bit help but this has been real, stick-around-for-a bit rain. Unfortunately, it caused flash floods in some places but the water-starved Southwest is very thankful for the rain.

I see from comments that I must also add that this water isn’t from our recent rains. It’s in one of the lakes at the Preserve that uses reclaimed water to make our lives and those of birds and animals much better. πŸ™‚

    Reflections are my favorite.

Artful shot, Janet! Adore it! Reclaimed water sounds right on!

  6. JT Twissel says:

I think all over the west we’re going to have to start reclaiming water. I have been in flash flood/mud flows in the SW – scary stuff!

    • I don’t know how much water for plants and so on is reclaimed. I wish we could use it for ours but our outdoor water comes from the same place as the indoor water, at least I hope so because the water meter runs when we water. πŸ™‚ There are lots of things people could do to use much less water but the building here never stops which is really rather sad/frightening/annoying.

Only 9β€³ of water per year? Oh my, that amazes me. I can understand why rainfall makes for BIG NEWS. Cool photo, very shimmery.

    • We do live in the desert so the small rainfall is normal, although we haven’t had that much total in the year and four months that we’ve been here, so it’s all appreciated!

  8. Yay for the rain! …and we should get more this weekend! Hopefully no more flooding. Nice reflection photo Janet!

  9. Fantastic photograph, Janet. You captured the reflections and the mystery of the
branch perfectly. Have a super weekend … stay safe and be well 😷 Blessings πŸ™πŸ»
