Walking. It’s what I do. But I’m not the only one walking as you’ll see from my responses to Amy’s challenge to “Keep Walking.” Here are three states of walking…or walking in three states.
Walking on tiptoe in Arizona…
Walking warily with your mouth full in Illinois…
And how we (that would be the royal “we) walk in Wyoming (with the sounds of a running stream for accompaniment)…
Trust me, even though I’m not doing the walking in that video, it’s not easy to keep get my phone out of my waist pack, get it ready to shoot, start the video while holding the phone both tightly enough not to drop it and as straight as possible…all while holding the reins with my left hand!! I feel I did my share. 🙂
This, that and the other thing 
I came over via your comment on Amy’s post and I’m glad I did. I love the trail on your lovley palomino. I take videos of trails here on my horse and I am always worried I will drop the phone and then have to dismount to get it and then how will I get back on again. I like your trail and would be happy to take my horse on it.

Taking photos or videos on horseback is always a bit worrying although in my case it’s not usually about getting back on but about where the phone might go if I do drop it, etc. 😉. Thanks, Amy. I also take shots on horseback at a standstill but Lacy doesn’t like to stop too long so I have to be quick. 😉. But I thought it would be fun for people to feel as if they were riding themselves.

What a skillful job of walking. that does not look like an easy trail.. narrow and rock-strewn. Here is applause for that four-footed walker..and the skillful cameraperson.
It’s not really a difficult trail and not very steep but quite pretty and I love that there’s the sound of running water.

I was surprised the horse can pick out such a narrow path, although in retrospect I ought not to have been. You can film more steadily when riding than I could have done on foot.
It might actually be harder to do on foot, although I’ve never tried it because that particular trail is some distance from our cabin. Horses seem to have no trouble on these trails thankfully. 🙂
Love that first image. The second guy is handsome but intimidating. Now, the trek into the back country is something else. That horse certainly is sure footed because that’s not exactly a wide path you were on. Thanks for the visual – you did good!
I guess I take the trails for granted as I ride on them so often. Horses can go over them much more easily than most humans. Glad you enjoyed the ride and as far as the coyote goes, remember I was using a telephoto lens. 🙂
LOL! I love the first image of the Egret. they’re so beautiful. Believe me I know how hard it was to record that video while on horseback! You did great. It sounds so lovely, and looks so peaceful.
I always hope nothing happens to spook the horse while I’m holding the phone because I’d probably drop the phone, which would certainly ruin a good ride. 🙂

It doesn’t really take bravery, Aletta, and there is a trail, although I have been known to go off-trail on horseback, which requires much more attention. 🙂 I’m happy you like the tiptoeing photo as well.

Welllll, I’m thinking perhaps the horse did a bit of a larger share but oh I so loved that walk janet! Really if one is going to walk could there possibly be a better way than on horseback beside a babbling brook? I think not!
Well, I did have to walk to and from the corral but I checked Amy’s instructions and they said to “share your walking discoveries”, not specifying who had to do the walking. 🙂 When in Wyoming and wanting to go some distance, this is my preferred method of walking.

Thanks very much, John. The trail is narrow but it’s not dangerous. Most trails that are horse trails (and sometimes mountain bike trails) are fairly narrow. I like it because it keeps the four-wheelers off. 🙂
