Downtown Chicago sports gold in these revolving doors. Don’t you love revolving doors? I remember going round and round in them as a child. One of the best bits of revolving door humor come during “The Return of the Pink Panther.” Do click here to enjoy it. It’s worth a few minutes of your time. I think I’ll also enter it for Thursday Doors, although I may have two links as I forgot Dan’s Labor Day break and posted last week as well. Here’s the link for the Wyoming doors from last week.

Those are perfect doors, Janet. I think I’ve seen them in person a few years ago. I love revolving doors. Thanks for remembering Thursday Doors.
It’s fun to just keep going around and around if there aren’t other people waiting. 🙂 These are rather grand ones, making it even more enjoyable.
When I was a little kid, I used to sneak in behind my mom in the same section 🙂
🙂
Enjoyed the Pink Panther clip! Now I will think of this when I see revolving doors…and I’ve seen your golden Chicago doors in person. So many terrific door opportunities in this city. Happy Thursday to you.
That whole movie is hilarious and I laugh just thinking about that scene. Glad you enjoyed the doors. I wish I’d taken many more door photos while I was in Illinois, but I didn’t go downtown all that often.
There is always another time, right?
I remember being afraid to go through the revolving door the first time.
I must have been 6 years old. Of course, eventually I did have a fun time
with them. It was at Macy’s in Manhattan. We had gone to see the Macy’s
day parade. Fun …!!!
These golden doors are beautiful and a great reminder of how somethings
change while others become vintage classics. Great find. Janet.
Stay Safe 😷 Isadora 😎
Do you remember when elevators had someone inside who pushed the buttons for the floors people wanted and opened/shut the doors? Elevators also often had attractive doors or the gates that had to be shut as well as the doors. Guess we’re dating ourselves, aren’t we? 🙂
LOL Yes, I do remember those elevators. I had a friend who lived in a building with the gate that had to be closed first. When I was about 6 I went with my mom to manhattan – we went there a lot – I was on the elevator with a man who operated the elevator. He had a uniform and white gloves. I told my mom later that day that I wanted to do that when I grew up. No need to say what she said. It seemed like an important job. LOL 😀 stay safe 😷
Those doors are stunning! I love the labels on the sides too…really fancy!
Thanks for the laugh with Peter Sellers this morning. I hadn’t seen that clip or movie in ages! It’s pretty funny. 😂
Isn’t is sad that so many comedians (such as Peter Sellers and Robin Williams) aren’t at all happy themselves but can make us laugh until we cry? There are so many PP scenes in the various movies that we often quote or laugh about.
Beautiful golden door indeed!
Thanks, Amy. Lots of attractive doors in older cities, I think.
That’s an amazing door!
Lots of older buildings seem to have lovely old doors, revolving or otherwise. I like that.
That is great to see them.
There must have been an era when those gold doors were the cat’s meow! We have them in SF too – generally at financial institution.
Yes, it was during a certain time when elegance was admired. I love “the cat’s meow” and also “the cat’s pajamas.” I have a cup with the latter saying and a cuts picture of a cat in pjs, not a photo but a Sandra Boynton picture.
golden doors indeed:)
And revolving doors to add to the attraction (at least to me.) Thanks for dropping by, Tanja, and taking time to comment as well.

You are welcome
Stunning , Janet! Chicago looks like a gorgeous city.
It certainly is but there’s getting to be so much violence that it’s not a good thing.
Sigh!
I know these doors well! Great choice.
Glad you liked them. ❤
