I remember as a child going up the down escalator, not far and not if there were people waiting. but it was fun. Looking down when you’re on a moving escalator is also fun but can be dangerously mesmerizing. Two classic escalator scenes are from “Elf” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duiRmGxeWSQ) and one of Cato in another Pink Panther movie trying to go up the escalator while wearing fake glasses that distort his vision. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find that one.

I’m trying to remember if I’ve been seen or been on a gold one…I don’t think so. I usually take the stairs up or walk up them if I can and ride them down to save my knees. 😀
I think most of them tend to be dark/black and silver but they can be quite useful, especially when you get tired or have trouble with stairs. Then there are the flat ones in airports.
I like the flat ones b/c somehow they make you walk faster on them.😄

Ha! I’ve seen golden elevator doors but escalators like this one are often silver and black at least in my memory rather than this gold.

I think it’s probably the only one or at least the gold ones are only in this hotel. 🙂
