I found the answer to Patti’s challenge of finding street art during a recent visit to Redondo Beach, California. This isn’t your street art by well-known artists, but rather the sort you find as you walk around the shops and businesses in a neighborhood.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. ~Pablo Picasso

That’s the test of street art – to see if anybody stopped. People would cross out ones they didn’t like and would star others. I liked that people would engage with them. Jenny Holzer

Speak softly but carry a big can of paint. ~Banksy

(Sorry about the railing, but I wouldn’t get the entire picture if I was on the other side of the railing.)

Wow. That King Harbor shot is my favorite. What great details and imagination! Is the last image of a restaurant on the wall of a restaurant??

  2. You’ve got great murals here, Janet!

  3. Leya says:

Great examples, Janet! King Harbour is king!

  4. Prior... says:

Love that banksy quote and the railing in the last Photo added some richness to real life setting – and allows us to feel what it is really like
    To view that nice art

  5. Those are great finds. I really like the diner, and the brewery artwork.

  6. Tina Schell says:

Excellent examples Janet. I realize it’s an example of my OCD nature but I love that the closing image’s railing is PERFECTLY aligned with the art and vice versa. Now that is one careful artist!

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
