While out for a walk in Redondo Beach, we came upon this lovely sight sporting a gate, two doors (one very hidden on the house), and a gorgeous garden. The husband of the couple who owns it was outside working and turned out to be someone our daughter and son-in-law knew. The couple had lived in this house for many years and had obviously put in a lot of work. But what a magical place!

A view with multiple doors is a plus. Hi Janet … hope all is well.
Still on a break, Frank? Hope things continue well with you.
Hi Jo … May be posting soon. Hope all is well with you.
This is such a lovely place, Janet. I love that gate, and the little free library on top of a letterbox – bonus! Thanks for sharing this great find.
I’d love to be able to get on the other side if he gets and explore the garden.
Interesting gates you got here Janet!
It’s a good one, isn’t it?
Oh yes! 😊
I’m always charmed by a little free library. And the stone walk, and the ornamental gate — It looks like a happy fairy tale.
It does. Not all fairy tales are happy.
And, a little free library too!! It’s a faery garden for sure and looks delightful.
I’d love to see more of it.
That gate is a beauty! Little libraries–I so enjoy stopping at different ones around town, to both drop off and pick up.
We don’t have them around us as there aren’t tree lawns or whatever you call the strip between sidewalk and street. Here nothing would really grow there anyway so the sidewalk just goes right to the street, with a curb of course. There are probably a few around somewhere.
So lovely! I love the gate. And the little free library is very special. 💗
I love those free libraries and the gate is really beautiful.
I so enjoyed this enchanting garden path, Janet, and the exquisite gate and free library box. What a sweet series of photos in this sweet place in the world.
Doesn’t it make you want to see what’s on the other side of that gate? 🙂
How magical! What a place to come home to every day. Love it.
It really was magical, but takes lots of practical work to achieve that effect. 🙂
What a lovely place … it does take a lot of work.
That seems to be the way with most really beautiful gardens, doesn’t it?
You’re so right, Janet, this is a magical place. I adore what they’ve done especially the book nook for sharing knowledge. Nicely captured … Be safe … Isadora 😎
Glad you enjoyed it, Izzy. It seems so peaceful and private despite being right in the city.
That’s a lovely gate and the library is charming.
Thanks, Lin. Glad you enjoyed them.
Great!
Thanks, Sue. The whole place was so peaceful yet right along a busy, wide road.
Brilliant! An oasis of calm amongst the business
The vine design is so unusual!
Looks to me as if it could be grape vines.
Yes, me too.
What an amazing gate and an wonderful small library. Jackpot!
Ca-ching! 🙂 I think you’d really enjoy the garden too, Judy.
I too chose little free library doors for my entry here:https://gwhphotos2.wordpress.com/2021/10/21/thursday-doors-october-21-2021/
Aren’t they great?

Had to zoom in to get a look at the “pony express” style under the library. I’d say they love the details😊
I have to agree. 😉
It does look magic. Its own self-contained world. I always prefer places that have not been over-manicured. (K)
I agree. The “natural” look takes a lot of work, though. 🙂
It does.
It looks so inviting, I love that gate and the cute little library.
I agree. I really, really wanted to ask if I could go through the gate and see their garden.
Magical indeed. Beautiful gate and I love the neighborhood library.
I think that gate’s rather special and I love those little libraries, no matter how fancy, but this one’s pretty nice!
I see magic and love. ❤
Well point and exactly right. 🙂

Wonderful gate, and I am a sucker for those street libraries, we have several in Bristol near my home.
Thanks, Steven. I appreciate the visit and I’m glad you enjoyed the gate and the library. There are so many cool little libraries out there.
