We’ll continue the black/grey challenge with a rather grey sky and grey outlines of mountains in the distance. This many clouds are unusual in Arizona where the sun shines almost every day. Because of that, the clouds (and rain if we can get it) are a bit of a treat. As you can see from the green, if the desert gets a bit of rain, it doesn’t appear nearly as desert-y. This shot was taken on a past bike ride with my husband.

Love that landscape… a familiar one to me as just like the country I grew up in in South Dakota.

A bit sad that we are all managing to find grey skies for Jude’s colour challenge 😦
But I love this shot – the leading lines are really dragging us into that moody weather

    • I didn’t really feel that these were depressingly grey skies and since it’s sunny here almost every day, grey a/o rainy skies are appreciated, at least by me. 🙂 I’m happy you loved the shot.

I live where we have much grayer skies when they are gray. To me this gorgeous photo looks more blue than gray. It’s all in your perspective, of course.

    • I agree that these are pretty. I don’t necessarily think grey skies are depressing. I’ve certainly seen darker skies and these are partly blue and partly grey. We rarely get the very, very dark clouds that come with storms because it rains so little here.

The sun always shine, sometimes we can’t see it – when it do it behind the clouds. 🙂

    • It’s always shining, isn’t it, but we can’t always see it. That’s one of the amazing things about flying when it’s dark and cloudy and then you get up higher, break through the clouds, and there’s the sun!

  5. It does look like a storm may come in. I love the green! The fields are going golden and brown here now, but in Northern Calif. it’s greening up and looking pretty in the hills. Did you get rain?

  6. Hammad Rais says:

I’m sure blue skies are lovely in Texas but I have also read about scorching heat, so these greys are more than welcome.
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely capture with my challenge, Janet 🙂
