Looking for her?
Perhaps. Tune in tomorrow to find out. 😉
At my childhood we had this kind of ducks, one drake and five ducks. At a time the we had a pure white drake (but with the blushing red head). They were calm but fearless when someone or something threatened them. 🙂
They’re so interesting looking aren’t they.
They really are.
Almost looks like a chicken. A gorgeous bird.
They’re quite large and very unusual.
I see these guys when I walk in the condo neighborhood in SC. They definitely catch your eye.
There certainly unusual. Are you headed for South Carolina soon?
About six weeks. 🙂
I bet you can’t wait.
I don’t think those ducks are in my area.
I’d never seen them before moving to Arizona.
Ah ha … so I’m not going crazy!
Well…. 😁
And beautifully photographed on a watered silk background.
🥰. Thanks, Jude. Sometimes the water steals the show.
Never seen one like this before!
I hadn’t either before we moved here. Quite different looking, that’s for sure.
Very different from what we get here
Never seen one like this!
They were new to me too when we moved here. I’ve only seen two at the Preserve.
What a beautiful photograph, Janet. It looks like he is swimming on a lake of molten metal!
Sometimes the background is what makes the photo.
[…] Him… […]
Ah, a very handsome fellow, indeed!
Wonderfully shot, Janet!
Thanks, Resa. He’s certainly an unusual-looking fellow.
Janet, do you have an eBird account? If not, your observations would probably be important!
Down here the ‘true’ Muscovy Duck is very rare, and the dometics are not seen too often. I have no idea what their status is ‘up there.’
Loved both the him and her posts!
Lisa, I don’t have an account but I’m also not too good at identifying all the birds I see. I need to get better. I’ve only seen this pair at the Preserve. They seem to be permanent residents.
