Whenever I’d walk in the park in Illinois I’d always go down to the river and see if I could spot any of these guys peeking out of the water. It wasn’t easy to get a shot as they could disappear almost instantly.
Exactly! 🙂 I was thinking of you the last several nights as we’ve been watching “Animals” on Netflix, “Big Cats” and “Dogs” so far, and of course a number of the places are in Africa.
Oh wow, Janet, what a treat to see this frog head so close up. I always find it fascinating that their ears are round disks and I just love to see them. Beautiful golden eye ring, too.
They’re slippery (probably both literally and figuratively) devils to catch in a photo but thankfully I had my telephoto and sneaked up enough on this one to get the shot. That eye ring is rather nice, isn’t it?
Perfect for this challenge!
Thanks, Aletta. 🙂
Ribbit! Great find, Janet! They always dive when come around so, I rarely get a photograph of one.
I had that same problem most of the time but the telephoto saved the shot on this one. 🙂
😀
Oh, well done!
Thanks, Sue, and thank goodness for a telephoto lens, otherwise he’d have been gone before I got nearly close enough.
Indeed!
Of course! I’m guessing there will be a lot of bird responses to this one but you’ve gone one better!! Ribbit……….

Waiting for his kiss, I suppose? He probably doesn’t know how happily married you already are to your original prince.

We’re watching the same series at the moment!
👍. Cool.

Thanks, Sandy. 🙂 It was not easy catching them peeping on camera but in this case it worked.

Great choice – and great photo!
Thanks, Marie. Couldn’t pass him up. He’s too cute in a froggy way.
Love this take on, Janet!
Thanks very much, Amy. ❤
What frog-loving person would not adore this image? 🙂
🙂 I have to agree.
LOL! A bit slimy, but cute as buttons!
I didn’t kiss him to see whether he’d turn into a prince but he’s pretty cute.
