While visiting in southern California, I was mesmerized by the glass sculpture in our daughter’s apartment. This is one of the photos I took of it.

Apologies to anyone whose post I missed over the weekend. My husband, who last week worked 80 hours, finally had an entire weekend off, so we took two road trips, one each day. It was fantastic and probably the first time we’ve been able to do something together for an entire day since the end of summer and that’s no joke. Thanks for your understanding!

Good grief! Is he nearing retirement, Janet? That’s a killer! Or does he love his work? Anyway, glad you had a good weekend. Intriguing sculpture.

  3. Glad you had so time away. Hubby and I also spend the weekend away with no WiFi in sight! Was just what we needed.

  4. Nice photo and even nicer weekend. If my math super powers are still working, I think your hubby put in twice what a company should expect of an employee. Here’s hoping they appreciate it and give him some time off to compensate for it. So says the former HR EVP. 🙂

    • It would be nice to think they’d give him some time off to compensate for it but that’s not really how they work. But we did have a good time and I’m glad you like the photo too.

Such a great shot, Janet! 80 hours, that is way too long…

    • I’m glad you like the shot, Amy. It’s a favorite of mine. Yeah, 80 hours is too much. If they just gave him comp time, it wouldn’t be so bad. But hopefully things won’t be so bad for awhile again. 🙂

  6. It reminds me of layers of an onion. I hope you two had a lovely week-end together and I hope there are more of those in the future.

    Sounds as though you’d a lovely time – here’s to many more……

I understand only too well the hours you might have to work in IT – both the OH and I used to be in the IT field and even when I went into teaching I probably did a minimum of 60 hours a week! It is extremely exhausting. Glad you got away for a break. As for the photo, it reminded me as son as I saw it of the frostweed plant – a blogger in Texas often posts about this phenomena.
