Thursday generally means Thursday Doors, but I don’t have any holiday doors handy and no desire to go out to find some this late in the day. I got my Covid booster and flu shots today and fortunately only have a slightly sore arm on the Covid side. (I chose to get one in each arm.) I’ve been doing Christmas things at the house, including wrapping most of my husband’s gifts, putting on the French Christmas tablecloth that my s-i-l gave us some year ago, and playing Christmas songs on my keyboard (last year’s big and much-appreciated gift from my husband.) But although I don’t have doors, I do have something colorful to brighten your day.
I know it’s Thursday, but…

wow – what a photo – the color and details really jump out and offer floral beauty
I think these flowers are some of the most beautiful here.
How very lovely, Janet! That’s a peach of a shot!
Thanks, Jo!
That photo certainly brightens my day. We had our booster shot for covid and flu shot in separate arms on the same day.. I think it gives comfort to know this will keep us out of the hospital.
Glad you have your shots as well, Peggy, and I’m pleased the photo brightened your day.
That’s bright and beautiful. You have been busy! I had my booster a couple of weeks ago, was hot and achy a few days later, but nothing major. If it helps keep us out of hospital then it’s worth it. We’re still keeping well away from crowds though.
We’re being careful as well and are two of the few people still wearing masks indoors.
Beautiful. I’m glad you are all shot up so you can stay healthy and that you are enjoying the holiday season.
Yes, I’m all shot up. 😁. Decorations are up, I wrapped my husband’s gifts, and now I need to get cards/letters done and on the mail as well as do cards for my parents, as writing them themselves would take too long.
Again, you are taking such good care of them, and I know they appreciate your being there. You will never regret your time with them.
Now that’s a WOW picture … which has earned you a free pass on the doors. Hope the only reaction was a sore arm.
Glad you liked the photo, Frank. I was a bit tired and the arm is fine this morning so that’s a blessing.
Hooray for that! … and Good Morning, Janet.
And good morning to you, Frank. 🙂
That’s such a lovely burst of colour!! Your holiday decor at home sounds lovely too. I got the Christmas wrapping paper down from the highest shelf in the garage yesterday to start wrapping, but finished getting Christmas cards ready for today’s mailbox run. Have a lovely day! We’re supposed to get snow!
Oooo, snow! Send photos. I’m going to text you some of the ornaments from the nature tree one of these days and I imagine I’ll be having some of them on the blog soon. Enjoy your day!!
Short video sent! It’s looking quite magical outside! Yeah, I’m looking forward to seeing them on the blog or sent to me! 🥰
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas there.
I hope we do have a white Christmas. 😀
I’ve been noticing the inside of flowers more and more recently. Sometimes they are more interesting than the flowers themselves. Love the color on these.
It’s amazing to see a bush covered with them.
I’ll add my compliments to those you’ve already received. Your picture taking skills are marvelous. Our Christmas decorations are pretty simple this year, lights and more lights around our big windows, but last year we didn’t go out and get a fresh cut tree because of covid and now this year, too, so it’s probably going to be our usual from now on. Funny how the older one gets, the less decorations! But we still celebrate.
We didn’t get a tree last year because no one was coming and we’re not getting one this year for the same reason. However, we have so many decorations that it’s still Christmas-y and I have a small artificial tree that is decorated with nature ornaments. However, the decorations aren’t the reason we celebrate, they just make it more fun.
Janet, dear friend, I’ve just baked a tray of mince tarts. They will be the perfect accessory to gift wrapping. Something to nibble on while you listen to Christmas carols and dream of a white Christmas. The flowers are glorious. A flame of red – Christmas red. Cheers Virginia
The tarts sound delightful, Virginia. I will dream of a white Christmas but if we have one in the Phoenix area, it will be an enormous surprise. It will have to be a white Christmas in my heart. 🙂 I’m so happy you enjoyed the flowers and I pray you’re having a wonderful Advent season leading up to a blessed Christmas.
PRETTY … PRETTY … PRETTY
I did the exact same thing two weeks ago … well, except for playing my keyboard.
I listened to Pandora play my favorite Christmas classics as I added ornaments to the tree.
Isn’t it a warming feeling to hear Christmas music as you decorate?
Merry Merry from our Home to Yours!!!
Izzy 😎
Thanks, Izzy. We’re not having a tree this year but the rest of the house is quite festive. I hope all of you have a marvelous Christmas as well.
One year, we didn’t add a tree. We were going on a combo Christmas/New Year’s eve cruise. It didn’t feel like Christmas. I didn’t add any festive decorations so the house didn’t feel joyful. I’ve always associated the Christmas season with more religious traditions but my dad always got us a real tree and that’s my best memory. Have the happiest of Christmas and New Year blessings 🙏🏻 … Izzy 😎
