…this might be the result if she were turned to glass (rather than a pillar of salt like Lot’s wife.)
Darling, who IS your stylist? Those curls are divine!

I can definitely see the resemblance, Janet.
🥰. Happy Friday, Jo.
🤣💟
Incredible!
Hard to imagine even imagining it, let alone creating all the pieces and putting it together.
So much skill and passion in that piece
In all his pieces, I believe.
Oh yes!
So intricate And vibrant colours
This certainly looks like some weird creature. Unreal. Love the colors.
The colors are definitely eye-catching, Peggy.

Oh, I like this one a lot!
And just imagine how many pieces there are! We were told that to move a creation, the pieces are taken apart, wrapped, and then moved. What a chore!
Great are, delightful observation.
🙂 Thanks, Dan. Is “are” supposed to be “title”?
Great Art
😁
Thanks for sharing these. I saw the Chihuly exhibit the last time his work was at the Dessert Botanical Garden, and it was amazing. I don’t think I will make it there this time since we’re still not back to traveling for work. Sigh.
I’m sorry you can’t see it in person but stick with me and you’ll see pretty much everything there this year. 😁

Thanks Janet! I don’t have a lot of my pictures public because of my kids, but found this one at Fairchild (Coral Gables, FL) – https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=10152222608102499&set=a.10150203677682499. I will look forward to your posts!
Look on the left side under “Recent Posts.” Most of what’s there is of Chihuly and there are some prior to the “Action” shot that are also his work.
He has a very similar work in this installation and aren’t they just amazing?!
Yes – I’ve seen his work in many places, and there are always some similar pieces. I really love his work. The blue post looks a lot what I recall seeing at the DBP in the past… I had to look for my pictures from the last time I was there in 2019 – of course, I found a shot of the permanent exhibit that you posted as well.
But they’re always wonderful, aren’t they?
It reminds me of the kelp forests in Monterey Bay! It’s an amazing sculpture!
What an interesting comparison, but I can see that. (I wish I could see that.). 😉
One day you’ll have to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and see the kelp forest from under the sea though the glass. It’s pretty cool!!
I bet it is! Haven’t been to an aquarium for ages.
Me either! I’m hoping to get to go to Shedd Aquarium this summer. I haven’t been to it since 1983!!
I was there once years ago (but more recently than 1983.) 🙂
😀
Haha, I agree, a pillar of glass sounds better to me than a pillar of salt. Have to get used to seeing these glass statues outside. All the art I have seen of Chihuly was located inside.
The outside things are very impressive but so are the indoor ones.
Wow!
This is really awesome 🙂
😉
They look like they have been collected from under the ocean. They are gorgeous!
I haven’t seen anything of Chihuly’s yet that I didn’t like even though I like some more than others.

Smashing
Not sure you should use the word “smashing “about glass, but you’re right. 😉. Thanks for the visit and comment.
