It is. Very. 🙂 The highway up Mt. Lemmon has been designated a scenic byway and it’s glorious! Only problem is that if you’re the driver, you can’t look around too much as it’s two-lane, winding, and there are lots of cyclists (bikes but also motorcycles.) Fortunately there are a number of pullouts so you can stop and enjoy the view and take photos.
I see a face too. Those rocks have been there a long time, so you’d probably be safe. Many of these loom right next to the road, so hopefully they’ll stay up for many more years!
That’s spectacular, Janet!
Thanks, Jo. The entire drive up (and down) the mountain is spectacular and in one area, there are lots and lots of these formations.
Wow! That’s amazing!
There are a number of these along the road. They’re quite impressive.
tall!

Love how you call them pullouts., we call them laybys!
You say potato, I say potahto. You say brolly, I say umbrella. 🙂
hee hee 🙂
Very impressive, Janet.
It’s hard to keep my eyes on the road when driving up that road. Fortunately there are lots of places to pull out and take photos. 🙂
That’s the problem with driving – there’s a lot that can be missed by watching the road.
From a distance, I’m thinking the most forward rock must look like a person, perhaps a native american. Does it?
Yes, it does to me as well. I think it might have a name that reflects that but I don’t remember for sure.
Wonderful shot, Janet. It’s certainly a long way down. 🙂
It is…if you’re brave a/o skilled enough to get on top! Not I!!
Me neither.
Wow! I’d love to take that drive
It’s marvelous.
I see a face … I certainly wouldn’t want to stand beneath those rocks!

Cool shot, Janet. I love Mt. Lemmon! 🌞
It’s a wonderful place with so many different climate zones. One of my favorite places here.
What a beautiful natural sculpture!
That section of the drive has many of these. The road goes through five climate zones, from low desert to alpine, all beautiful.
It looks like a neat place with great views!
It’s wonderful and what I like the most is at the top it’s an alpine zone, so real trees, frost and snow if the weather’s right. 🙂
Great shot! Is this a natural formation?
‘Tis. There are lots of this type of formation during one section of the road up Mt. Lemmon.
Cool! Nature is an amazing artist.
I’d say God, but since He made nature, we’re agreeing, I think. 🙂
