If you’re in downtown Chicago, you might catch a view of what appears to be a flying train. The L (or El) stands for “elevated” because much of the system operates on elevated tracks, making it possible to have a view of a train appearing to fly by. Here it also seems to be attached to the side of the building. How odd.

Yes, I have been to Chicago and seen the L train. It looks like a flying train.
Noisy too. π
πYes
Thanks for the smile.
Always glad to read that.
When I first saw the title I frowned, then smiled when I saw your picture. Well done, Janet – and have a good week.
π Sometimes I’m a little tricky but it’s all part of the fun. Glad you liked the shot, Frank, and enjoy your week as well.
π Great snapshot, dear Janet!
Have a very HAPPY week!

Thanks, Claudia, and you as well.
The building behind it looks interesting and beautiful too.
It does, doesn’t it?
Chicago – one of my favorite cities. Thanks for the pix.
My pleasure, Ann. Thanks for visiting and commenting.

That is pretty neat. They elevated the train that runs by our house too so now we see it over the rooftops of the houses across the street. It is really cool to see the night trains go by.
It’s one way to keep traffic from getting more snarled up than it already is. Are you in Chicago?
No, California, right by SFO. Literally we have the train our our front door and the airport out our back door.
Many other cities went “underground” for their metro rail networks, interesting that Chicago looked skyward!
In Philadelphia, some parts are underground and some are street level. The Chicago style seems to be unique.
Oh ‘ell! It’s stuck to the building!
Fun shot, Janet!
See? I told you it was odd. π
