I’m thrilled and thankful to report that we are now grandparents. Wow, does that sound old! 😁 Our first grandchild/grandson was both last night. ❤️❤️❤️. Much rejoicing here. God is good.

Ann-Christine has set us a most enjoyable challenge this week, looking for curves…except that there are so many choices!! I just started scrolling through my photos and picked some of the first examples I found that I liked. Then I stopped and went back to watching Six Nations Rugby Super Saturday games (writing this on Saturday.) Let me take you through some of natures curves, as I don’t have all the many of my own to share. 🙂

In our bones we need the natural curves of hills, the scent of chaparral, the whisper of pines, the possibility of wildness. Richard Louv

I could smell the curves of the river beyond the dusk and I saw the last light supine and tranquil upon tide flats like pieces of broken mirror, then beyond them lights began in the pale clear air, trembling a little like butterflies hovering a long way off. – William Faulkner

In life, as in art, the beautiful moves in curves. ~Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton

As all curves have reference to their centres or foci, so all beauty of character has reference to the soul, and is a graceful gesture of recognition or waving of the body toward it. Henry David Thoreau

    Simply wonderful.

  2. The ‘curve’ photos are stunning as always. A fern will always stop me in my tracks. Today, however, the big news of the day is the arrival of your grandson. Wow! Enjoy every moment because they grow up way too fast.

    • I imagine those ferns suddenly uncurling with a huge snap…which I’m sure isn’t exactly how it happens but probably seems that way. Yeah, the grandson news tops everything else. 🙂

Lots of curves. I loved your photo and the quotes were so perfect.

  6. Congratulations, Janet!! I’m so excited for you and B! This is the best of parenting being a Grandparent!! There’s so much more joy in it than I ever would have guessed. It’s truly a blessing!! 😍

I hope Mother and baby are doing well, and get to go home soon.

The curves you found to share are lovely!

Much love for your new grandson. So excited to hear that news.

I love the quotes you put in place for your photos and your selections were so carefully chosen. Of course the wind kisses (dandelion) would be my favorite. But the mushrooms are fun.

    Congrats again. Donna

    • Thanks and thanks, Donna. I like that it’s so easy to search for appropriate quotes online but even then you can’t always find just the right one. Many people have said a lot about a variety of things!! 🙂

      • Wind Kisses says:

        That makes this journey fun.

I have always like quotes and collected them when I was younger. I too love typing in a thought to a search engine, and finding new and old quotes.

  14. Congratulations!! What an incredible thing to celebrate. I hope to see many photos of your new grand child soon!

I saw this one in my inbox Janet and meant to comment when next I blogged and then totally forgot. First HUGE congratulations on the birth of your grandchild – FANTASTIC! So happy for you. Also, I loved your post – the images are wonderful, especially that backlit twig. And your choice of quotes is perfect. A beautiful post – sorry to be so late commenting.

    • We’re excited about the first grandchild but can’t get out there until later in April. But we’re getting photos and videos all the time. My husband is over the moon. 🙂 As for the post, I don’t mind late comments at all. I’m happy you took the time to get back and comment.
