Dan says he’s serving leftovers in today’s Thursday Doors post. I like leftovers! After visits to California and Prescott, I now have a plethora of doors as well as doors left over from previous trips. So let’s get started using some of them.
I’ve said it before and I’m obviously saying it again: I love when cities put art of otherwise drab, boring doors. Here are two examples from Redondo beach and two views of each. I guarantee they’ll brighten your day.

This morning I’m off for another meet-and-greet with fellow bloggers: Donna of Wind Kisses, Marcia of Always Write, Terri Webster Schrandt of Second Wind Leisure Perspectives, and another blogger with whom I’m not familiar. But I will be after this morning. 🙂 Enjoy Thursday!
These are fun, Janet! Have a lovely meet up!
Thanks and I’m sure we will.
😊
OOo. They began doing it here to discourage graffiti, those are beautiful .
I think it’s a great idea and these are truly beautiful examples. So much nicer in the bare boxes.
janet
Certainly, they placed them in the inner city here, and, they
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these doors! Applause to the artist. I also visited your friends and was surprised to find local photos. Good way to start my day.
I’m always happy to start someone’s day off in a good way. I hope it stays a good one.
I like these too. Have fun today … hi to all from me!
Thanks, Frank. Hope you’re enjoying your day.
🙂 …. I figure everyone is together right now! 😀
We were and had an excellent time. 🙂
Great way to cheer up utility cabinets, lovely colours.
I agree. I wish they were all decorated.
I love those doors, Janet. That trend hasn’t caught on around here. Maybe it’s that winter thing. I’m not sure how the butterfly would feel with snow plowed up against it.
That’s cool about meeting the other bloggers. Enjoy.
It hasn’t caught on here either unfortunately.
How lovely
I wish all these boxes were decorated.
I LOVE seeing people paint over those eyesores too! There were a bunch of beautiful examples in Oakland. I should have taken photos while I had the chance.
It’s a public service that I love.
Beautiful utility box wraps! Time for me to photograph the new ones in Madison, too. Thanks for the reminder.
My pleasure, Rebecca. 🙂
I really like this so much!
If all boxes were like these!
I agree!.
Perfect – colorful and beautiful. Love them.
Thanks, Peggy. I do too. 🙂
These are REALLY fun janet! I love them.
I’m glad, Tina.
Love those!!!
They really are great, aren’t they? I wish all cities would do this or allow artists to do this.
That’s a great idea!
Lovely ones, all of them – and the bloggers you are meeting!
Thanks, A-C. We had a really good meeting.
🙂
I’m with you, Janet. I enjoy viewing art and handpainted utilizingtarian city things.
My town had a call for artists to paint the wooden and aluminum benches on our town
sidewalks. Each artist could do their own design. The benches look terrific. Your pics = Perfect. Isadora 😎
That’s a great idea. There are some painted benches in California where our daughter and her family live and they look so inviting.
👍🏻 😀 😍 😎 🙏🏻
I just love it when the cities go the extra mile to make the utility boxes look nice like this. There’s one in our back yard that I keep wanting to put a white picket fence around, but maybe I’ll paint it instead, haha.
It was wonderful to meet you today, and we would love to meet again soon!!

Hi, Jodie. I agree..I love when the cities do this, it was great to meet in person (and your husband as well), and I’d love to meet again soon.

A bright and cheery door. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Happy to do so, Smitha. Thanks for the visit and comment.

Sounds like another good day, and yes, I like these too.
It was a good day and you can’t beat those doors.
Wonderful artwork. Makes the streets more lively!
I agree. I’d love to see all boxes decorated.
I love these boxes and doors, Janet. Some cities require the businesses to spend part of their budget on art. That works for me! It was so fun seeing you again. I look forward to many more times! Sorry your seats were hot. The streets should provide covered parking and walking pergolas. LOL By the way, I’d like to link this post to my morning coffee share today.
I think there might be underground parking. I saw the sign but after I’d already parked. I had the sunscreen up on the windshield but that only goes so far. I’m looking forward to more tomes too and feel free to link. Thanks.
Oh well. Next time we should come to you instead of you having to drive so far. 🙂 Is there any good place to meet?
Scottsdale or that area is fine. Then you don’t have to come quite as far and I only have to drive half an hour or so. We could meet at the Desert Botanical Garden sometime. That’s a wonderful place. We might want to wait until it cools down a bit, though.
Definitely, I’m not a 111 degree girl – not walking outside. 70 is about my limit – 80 if its kind of shady – LOL! That sounds like Christmas vacation. LOL
These are outstanding! I’m glad you photographed them so I could see them! I don’t recall seeing anything like this on the beaches in South Florida. 🌞
Wouldn’t it be nice if they were everywhere?
I love this kind of street art. I have quite a few shots of traffic light control boxes that I took on my last trip to Brisbane, Australia a few years ago. Some had been painted by the usual street art crowd and some by art students etc.
It really makes things much more interesting and attractive, doesn’t it?
These are beautiful! I can’t pick a favorite. (K)
😁. That’s a good problem from my point of view. Thanks.
Love the boxes. Thank you, Janet!
You’re so welcome. I love them too. So much nicer than boring grey.
