Thanks, Jo. Everything’s fine. I drove back to Illinois to visit friends, in total about three weeks. It was a wonderful time. Couldn’t have been better. But I kept busy enough that I didn’t want to take time to blog. However, it is good to be back with everybody. I missed all of you too.
Ha! Not me. No one would be allowed to climb here anyway because of the inscriptions at the base of it. Otherwise I’m sure people would. I don’t have a head for heights. 🙂
Only some rope from the top misses – cliffhangers need ropes, else it would be a real cliffhanger. Rapelling (walking down from the height) is really fun (did it much in my military time). Don’t have to say that equipment safety is a top priority. 🙂
As you’ll see in later posts, this whole cliff area has inscriptions from early pioneers, and even some petroglyphs. So no one would be climbing there. 😁
I know – it was just a flashback.
There are some who only climb mountains “because they are there” – that kind of thing doesn’t interest me, there has to be a reason or a purpose. Furthermore, the risk calculation must always be carried out. Furthermore, memorials are imho always a no go. 🙂
Clearly the last thing I expected to see as a FACE Janet but OF COURSE it is! Why am I never surprised by you my friend?! Glad to hear you enjoyed your getaway. welcome back!
😉. I had a very unusual but “normal” face to use but then decided most entries would be similar so I went this way. But maybe that’s normal for me so the surprising thing would be if I did a “normal” face….?! 😁😁😁
My neck is stiff from just looking up to the top of the cliff on the photo! 😀
I see you mention that there are inscriptions and petroglyphs against the rick face. Seems our human penchant for putting our signatures on things we had no hand in creating goes back a long, long time…
Wow, what a nice rock face. I’m just catching up on your blog and enjoying the pics from your trip. Glad you got to see the colors before the winds and rain takes them all down 😀
Oh, my- that’s a scary climb, Janet! Everything ok- I’ve missed you!
I agree, nice to see you back😀
🤗💗
Thanks very much, Ritva. I had an excellent time away but it’s also good to be back.

It is nice to see you back Janet! high cliffs scare me
I prefer to be at the bottom, that’s for sure. If I were at the top, I’d be so far from the edge I couldn’t get a photo of the face of the cliff. 😬
Me neither!
Hi, I’m Cliff. Drop over some time 🙂
Rock on, Cliff!
Ha! I thought at first glance you were some weird spammer. 😁
No….I’m just one of your regular spammers. Ok weird may come into the conversation every now and then 😀🤪
Every now and then??? 🙂
The does go way up. Welcome back 😀
Thanks. 🙂
What a stunning view of the cliff! Beautifully captured, Janet.
Thanks, Amy. The entire mesa was stunning. 🙂
I’m guessing this isn’t something you climbed? It looks like it would take some serious expertise to get up there.

Cliff faces can be dramatic!
This one certainly was. It was impossible to get the feel of how tall and towering it was. I kept trying, but nothing really conveyed the feeling.
Sometimes tricky….
So dramatic from this angle….
Marie, it certainly was dramatic and I’m glad my picture could convey that feeling.
That’s sheer! Welcome home and back to the blog!
Looking straight up, can almost cause you to fall over! But what a fascinating place it was. Thanks for the welcome back.
Wow! 😳
Indeed! The whole place was just awesome. In the true sense of the word. I’ll be blogging about it at some point in the next few weeks.

Welcome back Janet. Glad you got home safely. What a great angle on this cliff Face!
Thanks, Peggy. This cliff just went virtually straight up. Quite impressive!
😊Yes, very impressive.
My neck is stiff from just looking up to the top of the cliff on the photo! 😀

It does but it is fun to see now. I wonder whether someone will feel the same about all the things people “sign” (deface?) these days.
That person Banksy seems to think so…
😁. His might be a bit above some of the names scrolled in places you don’t really want to have them.
😀
Wow!!
It was be easy to tip backwards while looking up at this cliff! 🙂
I bet!!

I’m glad too, Madison. I’m glad you’re enjoying the pictures and there will be lots more. Happy almost Thanksgiving!
