Monday walk in the neighborhood

It’s often clear in our part of Arizona but when there are some clouds, be ready for some spectacular morning color as on this morning last week. Sunrise doesn’t come until about 7:30 am these days so I don’t have to rush out to catch dawn and sunrise. Most mornings I have my devotions, Bible readings, and Norwegian lesson done before going out and I’m still out before the sun, just the way I like it.

Unusually we had an entire day of rain not long ago and, as our soil doesn’t absorb water very quickly, we were left with lots of sitting water. Made for some good reflections.

Presenting still life on the sidewalk. 🙂 The leaf had such a deep, rich color I couldn’t resist.

Naturally drop shots aren’t the norm either so I enjoyed seeing so many drops on this cactus pad.

We’re getting autumn colors now.

Orange color here might just come from…oranges. These are in someone’s yard but the neighborhood streets are lined with citrus trees and fruit for the taking. I just wish more of the trees were lemon trees.

I do admire your industry, Janet. Is there a purpose to the Norwegian lessons or just for fun? I have a little Portuguese for you over at mine. Thank you for the beautiful photos and sharing sunset. Have a lovely week!

  2. bushboy says:

I agree Janet, even some Lime Trees as well

  3. peggy says:

Such a beautiful sunrise. Our sunrises here are about 7:30 too and it’s nice not to have to rush. Loved all your wonderful photos – a very nice walk.

    • Thanks, Peggy. It is nice not having to rush, but it also means I get done later in the morning. As with almost everything, there are advantages and disadvantage is.

  4. Back to the land of the sun … Love the water drops on the cactus. 🙂 Have a good week, Janet!

  5. Fantastic sunrise, Janet. I love all these shots, especially the one of the leaf with the raindrops.

    • We can have some amazing sunrises. There are lovely sunsets too but from our house, you can’t really get the full effect because most of what you see is other houses. 🙂

  6. Amazing reflections, Janet 👏 so clear 😃

  7. scr4pl80 says:

    Gorgeous pictures!

  8. Beautiful sunrise, and reflections of the sky and palms.

  9. De rien! Comment on-dit merci en norvégien?

  10. Jodie says:

Reminded me of the photo I included in my email. Our lemon tree is going bonkers, but many of our orange trees don’t have any oranges. It’s so sad,

  11. Ally Bean says:

The autumn colors surprise me. So pretty though

    • Seasons here are different from elsewhere as are many things. I compare summer here to winter elsewhere…the season many don’t like and try to escape if possible. I have to say I miss winter more than I’d miss 110 degrees, but both have their advantages and disadvantages.

  12. Too frosty here.. you have a wonderful walk around with this sun.
    Thanks Anita

  13. You find such beauty everywhere you go. It’s truly a gift that you can capture and share it with us. 🙂

  14. DeWetsWild says:

Paying attention to the little things in nature is richly rewarding, as your beautiful pictures prove yet again, Janet

  15. pommepal says:

Spectacular sunrise Janet. Our sunrises at 4-30am, a little early to catch it and not very interesting at this time of the year.

    • That’s like here in summer. The good thing then is it’s also the coolest time of the day so if you’re at all a morning person, the best time to walk or be outside.

  16. Teresa says:

Love the autumn shot and the raindrops on the leaf best!

  17. tootlepedal says:

A good walk. I liked the reflective shot in particular.

  18. Hammad Rais says:

This is really so wonderful, Janet. Thank you for taking me along 🙂
