One week ago Marsha (AlwaysWrite) and I met Jodie (Jodie’s Touch of Style), her husband and photographer Rob, and friend and model Leslie at Prescott’s Sharlot Hall Museum, a real jewel in Prescott. Always on the hunt for doors, I snapped shots of some elegant safe doors. No hiding these behind a painting but it would take some doing to remove them even knowing where they were!! Also no doubt about the company that made each safe.

And inside, another set of doors.

After all those, there’s only one thing to say: Stay safe out there. 🙂

The safe doors are quite ornate and lovely janet 🙂
In those days when many things were so utilitarian, I think they really stood out.
Look at those safe doors. Very pretty and effective, I’d wager.
Beauty and usefulness is a great combination.
Good find because back in the day, safes had some greater doors. Plus I like that you looked outside the box for a wonderful door. …. and then closed the post with an outstanding double door!
It was nice that they had that last door open so I could see the ones inside. 😉
I really like these doors, Janet! I especially like the last one, with a glimpse of the mechanism revealed. These doors served in a time where they might have been the only thing that stood between having your fortune and losing it. Thanks for the history, too.
The museum was really well done and I love that the safe doors were both beautiful and functional. Nice to have both. And you needed weight for safety as well.
Pretty cool doors, and safes!
I thought so too. 😁
Some interesting doors, Janet. And what an unusual exhibit. I don’t ever recall safes being featured in a museum before.
It’s a museum of Prescott history, the old West, so there are all sorts of things you might not find in another museum. It’s quite a gem, I think.
Great looking safe doors. Good final pun!
🙂 Glad you liked the doors and thanks for noticing the pun.
Such interesting doors! You stay safe too!
🙂
Janet you found some gorgeous doors for this week. 😀
Thanks, Cee. Glad you liked them. I was impressed by how attractive they were.
They really are 😀
🤣 You had to go there, didn’t ya❣️😂
I absolutely did! 😁
👍
Great doors for this week, Janet!
Thanks, Teresa. They were too attractive and unusual to pass up. 🙂
I liked the first safe in particular. It wasn’t going to hide its light under a bushel.
True and it would have have to be a big bushel. 🙂
Thanks for sharing these doors and safes
.Anita
I’m happy you liked them, Anita.
So much trouble to go through to keep something safe that stays behind when you die anyway…
True but the contents can be useful to you and others while you’re alive. 😁
Especially if used to travel!
🙂 An excellent use, I’d say.
lol on the your last line; creative take on the door theme!
Glad you caught that last line and enjoyed the doors. I hope you enjoy your weekend.

I do like the older safes that were decorated with colorful words or scenes.
It made them works of art as well as their more practical use. Of course hidden ones don’t need to look good. 🙂
janet
hahaha you are the funny one. Those are great pictures. I didn’t even see some of those. It’s so interesting that several people can go to the same place and come out with such different pictures and information. I had such a great time. I can’t wait to see you all in Feb.
It was fun and it will be fun. Enjoy the weekend.
You too, my friend. 🙂
Wow, I love these safe doors!
They’re pretty awesome, aren’t they? Glad you enjoyed them.

That last one is especially impressive! (K)
Thanks! Wouldn’t it be nice if things today were made with such love and beauty although I guess it’s really old-time advertising and we have that now. 🙂
Everything comes down to cost now. Time is money.
