Aah your post prompted a memory for me. I have my Grand Mother’s glovebox which I think is ‘Bakelite” with inlaid mother of pearl. Have a lovely Sunday.
Thanks, Sue. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve set up a composition so I’m glad this one worked. Usually I just take what I see.
really pretty Janet – so delicate, and a beautiful composition. Reminded me of a beaded purse left to me by my great aunt, which was her mother’s so very old. One evening we were headed out “fancy” for a change so I decided to use it. When I opened it up there was an ancient pair of opera glasses in it. Such a sweet surprise!
Thanks, Tina. The box was from my grandmother, I believe. I have a pair of opera glasses that belonged to my great-aunt. But what fun to find yours in the purse!

I’m happy my post brought up that memory, Caryl. This box is some sort of light weight wood. Thanks for the visit and comment.

funny thing, one day we wake up and find vintage are things from our childhood.
Too true! This one is older than that though.
Oh, wonderful!
Thanks, Sue. 😁
Pleasure!
A beautiful image, Janet. I love your composition and the old style edit you have given it.
I thought the edit worked well and it was even called “Old.” 😁
What Debbie said
😉. Thanks, Brian. I rarely compose a photo the way I did this one so I’m glad it worked.
Love it ❤️
A lovely composition, Janet.

Gorgeous photo for this week’s vintage theme. 😀
Thanks so much, Cee. 🥰
That’s a lovely still-life, Janet! I love the bag.
Thanks, Deborah. I got the bag in France and it’s filled with lavender.
