It’s certainly amazing. As a Christian, I believe the flood would have caused much of this to happen as the immense pressure of having water higher than the highest mountain would accelerate processes in an unbelievable amount. And there are enormous pieces of petrified wood there, some whole trunks of tree that cracked in to segments as they got heavy.
Glad you liked the six words, which is one of my favorite parts of the challenge. There’s so much beautiful petrified wood in Petrified Forest that it gets to be too much after a bit. 🙂
Ha ha! Great six words, Janet.
I hope you’re not petrified all weekend!
No, up and at it early as usual. 😉
perfect caption!
😉. Thanks, Beth.
The colours are so beautiful 🙂
They are, Brian, and there were so many colorful, enormous pieces of petrified wood that I finally stopped taking photos. It was overwhelming.
Love your title! Petrified rocks are so cool. To think that they’re so old they petrified is amazing.

I hadn’t ever thought about from that perspective. It’s a wonderful insight.
Very clever! I love it.
And I’m glad you do, Rebecca. 🙂
That is so cool!
It’s a marvelous place, Janet, filled with lots of beauty.
LOL! Beautiful. 🙂
Have you been there? It’s quite an amazing place and so much petrified wood!!
Yes, I’ve been there & also to Petrified Forest State Park in Southern Utah. So strange & beautiful! 🌞
I didn’t realize there was another one. Another possible future visit.
I love your six words. Terrific piece of petrified wood you captured. 😀

I’ve been there once and totally fell in love with the area. It is one place I could go to over and over again. 😀 😀
Me too.
Great title! And I’m amazed at the colours.
Not all the colors are this vibrant but an amazing number are. And this was on a cloudy day. 🙂

I love this great capture. Anita

Thanks, Yvette. There were so many beautiful pieces of wood there that it was overwhelming. But in a good way.

Some sang “I got stoned then I missed it” – you didn’t, Janet. 😀
Good one, Drake. 😂😂😂. Hadn’t thought of that song for years and years.
Me neither – but you made me think about it again. 😀
