While I can’t find anything about them online, possibly because I’m not sure how to search for them, our daughter who lived in Philly assures me that this type of door (and railing) are quintessentially Philadelphia, so for today’s Thursday Doors, I’m presenting them that way. Glad we don’t have them in Arizona, as I can only imagine how hot they would get in our summer heat!!
When the sun shines on this array, I hope you’re wearing your dark glasses.

Both the doors here are attention-getting and set off by the arched windows and surrounding curve of brick.

The door on the right is quite fancy with its intricate pattern. The one on the left is just ordinary but I like what they did with the entryway.

Anyone’s welcome to join Thursday Doors every or any Thursday (we do have a few breaks occasionally.) You can see the other entries as well as Dan’s post by clicking on the highlighted link in the first paragraph.

They are great
Thanks, Sheree.
😎
Have you been watching the Vuelta?
Every day particularly as there are riders I know well taking part
Who do you know? We’re thrilled that Sepp Kuss is in the red, as he seems like such a nice person and is a super domestique. A lot of different riders have won various things, which is also nice.
Rudy Molard, Joe Dombrowski, Larry Warbasse, Damiano Caruso, Mikael Cherel. I too am delighted to see Kuss in red.
My husband says we’re jealous. 🙂 Must be fascinating to hear them talk about cycling.
It is indeed but we’re spoilt because so many pros live here
True.
These are not shy, retiring doors, are they, Janet?
No, they’re definitely not, Jo. 🙂
You have a way of spotting great doors to feature here. Great collection, Janet.
I glad you enjoy them, Frank. We don’t have many interesting doors around here, but I stock up every time I go somewhere else. 🙂
These are wonderful doors, Janet. I don’t know what ties them to the city, but it looks like they belong there.
I have no idea, Dan, but they’re both unusual and attractive, a good combination in my eyes.
Always enjoy your door selections here, Janet!
Thanks, Amy. That’s always good to read. 🙂
Such interesting doors. Definitely need to wear gloves to open them in the summer. It surprises me that the arched ones don’t match but if there are two different owners I guess it makes sense.
Most of the houses in Philly are row houses, so yes, those are two different places.
Thanks for sharing these Thursday Doors 🚪 and they are so photogenic. Anita
Glad you enjoyed them, Anita. They’re unusual as well as attractive.

Theses are really stunning doors, they actually look very elegant, worth a few bob.
They really do look elegant, don’t they, and so unusual. I have no idea what they cost. 🙂
They must need quite a lot of work to keep them looking so shiny.
Got to polish off the spots when it rains. 🤣🤣🤣
There’s one building on Amsterdam Avenue that I pass now and then that looks just like this–they must be from Philadelphia! The shine really stands out. (K)
They must be blindingly in direct sunlight!
Yes.
How curious! It’s definitely a unique and distinctive style. I wish I knew the history!
I looked and looked but couldn’t find anything.
I love these doors. They make the entrance look fancy.
Are they cold to the touch? I’ve seen some wrought iron
doors but never aluminum. Nice photographs … Izzy 😎
I’m just guessing that they’re made of aluminum. If so, I’d think they’d be cold in winter and hot in summer.
They’re pretty but not practical. They served you Door challenge purpose. 😄
Wow, it sounds like you don’t like them. I think they are stunning, so modern, they are not what I think of as quintessentially Philly.
Not at all. I think they’re great. I just think they’d be extremely hot in an Arizona summer.
True dat. They would burn your hands off opening them. 🙂
For sure, the metal doors look safe and sturdy. They are also a bit magnificent in design… a bit Deco like.
Nice shots, thanks Janet!
I love the designs as well. I’d love find out what they feel like.
They look like steel.
I imagine hot in the summer, icy in the winter (don’t lick them with your tongue) and heavy!
Beautiful designs on these doors, Janet, a very modern look.
They really are beautiful and unusual, aren’t they?
They do look strong and well secured…very beautiful.
That’s how I felt about them, too. 🙂 Thanks for taking time to comment. It’s always appreciated!

Ha, yes, way too hot, but artsy. I love the way the stairs lead to them too.
Lots of stairs in Philly, both to the houses and to the upper floors of all those row houses and regular houses that all have two or more floors.
All of these are extra-ordinary! I love the artwork. The metal doors remind me of doors in Asia.
I also think these are extraordinary, Brenda and didn’t realize there are similar doors in Asia. Interesting.
Very interesting those doors.
They’re very different but so cool.
