I was all set to do Thursday Doors, before I recalled that doors are closed for another week. So I decided to play a bit with a shot taken in the Southwest Airlines portion of the Philadelphia airport. I like the bright, airy feeling of the display and a little editing fun gave it a Japanese woodcut feel. Happy Thursday!

I’ve mentioned this bush outside our house in a previous post, likening it to an avian Starbucks where birds gather to spend time with their friends. Usually they perch on top as they chat, but in this video, although they’re shy, they’re definitely not quiet! They’re online, using Twitter extensively. Not sure they meet the character quota, though, and hopefully they’re not stealing our internet!! :-)
You do?

Sometimes these things just pop into my head. 🙂
Keep your eyes on the (odd)ball.

Oddball with eyeballs. Something’s definitely fishy here! Looks like a pretty serious conversation. No one’s keeping a stiff upper lip, but there are certainly some stiff lower ones.

What’s your business?

After a morning spent making a fruit salad and then enjoying the Memorial Day parade in downtown Naperville, followed by a great time with friends and delicious food, I’m enjoying simply sitting and relaxing. A book awaits and later, when my husband gets up from his nap (he’s ridden close to 200 miles on his bike in four days), we’ll watch an episode or two of “Longmire” on Netflix. So I don’t have much energy left for coming up with a post. However, while scrolling through photos for inspiration, I came upon this one of a mug we gave our younger daughter. I hope it makes you smile.
Draw, pardner!

The movies I saw while growing up were largely Westerns, westerns of a kinder, gentler type, where people were shot from a distance with no graphic gore. They simply fell over and died, although they might trash around a bit or groan and grimace before going limp. When Sergio Leone and Clint Eastwood introduced the “spaghetti westerns” to the US, Eastwood’s character basically killed all the (bad) principle characters (and, seemingly, a good part of the rest of the cast) but again, not in any overtly bloody way, a far cry from many movies or TV shows now.
The gun fight scene was an integral part of many of these movies, both characters standing in an empty street for interminable moments, then reaching for their gun/s and shooting, while onlookers peered out from behind the saloon or store doors. The man with the quickest draw and best aim was left standing.
My dad loves all things western, we ride western, love visiting the west, and so on. This January while visiting them, we once again spent a few hours at the High Noon Auction, enjoying the sights and sounds as well as the free chocolate chip cookies. In the hallway, this metallic cowboy was quick on the draw, but I got a shot of him before he got a shot at me.
COB Photo Challenge 2016, Week 9…bear with me

Imagine my surprise when I came upon this fellow on my way out of Costco. Is he sleeping it off or just taking a quick nap? I’m not sure whether that was a large Bandaid or not, but I do know most things are super-sized at Costco, which means he certainly qualifies big-time for the Oddball Photo ChallengeOddball Photo Challenge.
