The challenge for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge is “Things with Motors for House or Garage.”  I don’t know about you, but I think this Dusenberg would look just perfect in any garage, provided the garage was long enough.  What do you think?

I hope you can tell which is the more famous name.  🙂  (Hint: it’s the car.)

Here’s the original song that I riffed for my title.  Nothing like some old Beach Boys. Listen to the original “Little Deuce Coupe” here, but it wasn’t a Duesenberg!  Just look how young these guys were then.  (But weren’t we all a lot younger then?)

While my husband and his friend biked Missouri’s Kady Trail, I drove the car, stopping for photos, historical spots, even wine tasting.  In Rocheport, I found antique stores (lots of antique stores), a wonderful history museum, and  Mulberry Grill and Bakery, with an outdoor pizza oven and possibly the best pizza I’ve ever had, even including Italy.  (Yes, I waited for the cyclists before having lunch.)  But as it was very hot and humid, I did indulge in some delicious ice cream in a little air-conditioned restaurant while I waited for them to arrive.  On what might be considered the main street, I came across this sweet ride with some great doors front and back. Road trip, anyone?

Speaking of road trips, I’ll be working all day today, then up at 2:30 am for a 3 am cab to the airport preparatory to a long weekend trip to Philadelphia. (I feel sleepy just thinking about it!)  I won’t have much online time there, so please excuse my absence from viewing and commenting.  On the bright side, I was randomly chosen for TSA pre-check, a wonderful blessing that means shoes stay on, etc. and I should get right through the security line.

I love this car we saw while exploring Beaune, France. What a great way to advertise the Dali show!  Dali’s expression might mirror that of someone seeing the car for the first time.  It was certainly eye-catching.

During this trip, we checked off one item from our bucket list–attending a stage of the Tour de France.  After waiting for hours in the cold and rain, the parade of sponsor vehicles came by, including this tribute to the leader of the Tour, the rider wearing the yellow jersey.  This was literally the brightest spot in a day filled with dark clouds and rain, but also with so much fun!

For the Challenger’s Choice theme, choices include:  Abstraction, Animals, Architecture, Food Photography, Night Photography, Objects, Portraiture, Still Life, Street Photography, and Travel.  This week’s photos are a combination of street photography and travel, the first found in a street in the old part of Beaune, France, a lovely city filled with history.  This baby isn’t nearly as old as most of the buildings, but it’s still a vintage car with attitude.

Or how about this cutie seen on the streets of Nuits St. George?
