Friday flowers

Six Word Saturday 10.1.22

Not all flowers are large and showy or even found in the usual places. These little ones are a perfect example. Happy Friday!

As usual, I don’t know the name of this flower and despite the excellent signage at South Bay Botanic Garden, I didn’t see one for this flower. I’m sure one of you can tell me what it is, right? 🙂 Feel free to jump in with a name. But the light is as much the star of the show, making the two together more than the sum of their parts.

I found this lovely on one of my walks in California with our grandson in the stroller. The next beauties I found at Schmooze in Scottsdale, Arizona yesterday in another blogger meet-up, one of my favorite activities. 🙂

Left to right: (standing) Marsha (Always Write), the author, Jodie (Jodie’s Touch of Style); (seated) Donna (Wind Kisses), and Terri Webster Schrandt (Second Wind Leisure Perspectives.) Schmooze is a lovely spot to meet but the people were the attraction. (Jodie’s husband took the photo and it was fun meeting him too.)

Once again it’s Friday and time for a flower photo. I took this photo in California where I was excited to be able to take some shots that included drops. Today in our part of Arizona it’s been threatening to rain and we’ve had a few measly attempts but nothing that adds up to much. However, the skies are still dark so we still have hope. Welcome to Friday and don’t forget to check your spam folder. I’ve had at somewhere between 75 and 100 today in total so far, none of them legitimate

While in California the last two weeks, I realized that while I’m there I’m taking photos almost exclusively of grandson, flowers, and doors. 🙂 I did get some of the ocean but somewhat tangentially. As I’ve mentioned before, the doors in Arizona are often purely practical doors designed to keep the sun’s very direct, hot, and harmful rays away from the inside door. It makes sense but doesn’t make for very interesting door photos. My family has gotten used to me stopping all the time for door and flower shots and are remarkably good about it, even holding my to-go cup when needed. 🙂

However, it’s Friday and that means doors were yesterday and flowers are today. How about some morning glories to start (or perhaps a much-needed jolt of happiness in) your day?
