Something’s fishy!

Since we’re still on yellow for Jude this week, I’m going to use this one. After all, it’s Lent, although maybe that means I should post it on Friday. 🙂 If you go to Reading Terminal Market (and that would be pronounced “Reding” not like reading a book) in downtown Philadelphia, you might stop at John Yi’s market for some fresh fish. There’s a lot more to see at the Market as well but try to avoid the weekends when you might have difficulty pushing through and lines are everywhere.

Sometimes details make all the difference.

Thursday doors…yellow doors

Yellow doors have pizazz or, in the case of this first door, pizazz and pizza. Almost the same, but the “z’s” make all the difference. Mangia! Or, since this is in France: Mangons!
These two door neighbors provide the perfect contrast and it’s easy to tell visitors which one is yours. I don’t envy the mail carrier who has to bend down every day to deliver mail through those slots, though!
While this Naperville door isn’t yellow or fancy, it’s certainly gets attention despite being set back. I’m not sure how you open the door, but maybe this guy opens it for you. 🙂
This week I worked hard to combine Thursday Doors and Life in Colour: yellow. I hope you enjoyed the merger.
Ooooh, I think I drank too much.

Coolin’ in Costa Rica

Costa Rica was beautiful but hot. Cafe Milagro turned out to be a favorite hangout not far from our hotel. Costa Rica is known for its coffee, but this lime drink was possibly the most refreshing thing I’ve ever drunk.

One Christmas some years ago, I opened a card from our older daughter that said “Good for one week in Costa Rica.” I thought it was a joke. A year later, after one aborted attempt due to a cancelled flight, we spent five wonderful days near the Manuel Antonio rain forest. On the way back from a day-long cruise where we saw whales, ate and drank well, and went scuba diving, we were treated to this glorious sunset.

Friday flowers…fleur jaune

Fleur jaune = yellow flower. I’m not sure what type of flower this is, possibly broom of some sort. If anyone knows, feel free to let me know. In the meantime, just enjoy the flower and your Friday.
