“Expect the unexpected” might be the theme of my s-i-l’s and my time together. We start out to see one thing and find another. We start out to see whatever we might come across and find a jewel. We may sometimes drive the navi (GPS) to distraction, so much so that it sends a big yellow arrow our way to try to force us to turn around, but the pleasure of the unexpected find is to be treasured, although not sought.
We turned into the Office of Tourism entryway on a simple mission: to see whether they sold honey made by my s-i-l’s neighbor, the mayor of their small town. (They didn’t.) I glanced to the right and saw an inviting opening. Walking over, I found the unexpected.
