Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Although I’m sure the first barista to top a cup didn’t use the gingko leaf as a model, s/he might have. This is my answer to the Weekly Photo Challenge’s difficult theme: “Dialogue.”

Lovely Janet! I am not sure yet what I’m going to post for this challenge. It is hard. But your two photos are perfect! Great job!
I had no idea either until I looked at the frothy design and realized it looked like a ginkgo leaf. You’ll find something, but this is a very challenging challenge!
janet
looks like a good cappuccino – one of my favorite drinks on a cold day!
It’s borrowed from the man next to me for a photo a few days ago. I was drinking tea. 🙂
janet
Really great idea for the Dialogue challenge.
Thanks. Liked yours, too.
janet
I am enjoying the creativity of this challenge. Yours tells a beautiful story. Happy long weekend 🙂
That’s great!
Yes, it is difficult especially since I could not understand his photos :O, but it provoked some really nice responses tonight. I like your clever interpretation Janet. Very nicely captured too 🙂
Thanks, Paula. Yes, this was a tough one. I think his photos focused on shapes and colors, similarities and contrasts. You’re right that it’s producing some enjoyable and clever responses.
Have a wonderful weekend.
janet
You too Janet, enjoy 🙂
simply great, Janet 🙂
Sweet entry Janet!
Sweet comment, Chris! Thanks! Have a great weekend.
janet
Thx! you too!
🙂 This looks soooo delicious!
Can’t wait for my breakfast coffee 😉 xo
When the man sitting next to me set it down, I had to ask if I could take a photo before he drank from it. I love tea, but it doesn’t have this on top.
janet
Oh wow, that’s an excellent choice! A great response to the prompt 🙂
Thanks so much, Mara. I appreciate that.
janet
Brilliant pairing, Janet. 🙂
Awwww, thank you. I really appreciate that.

A nice couple – and I like them both too.

This one has me stumped. But bit you. 🙂 Great take on the theme, Janet. Thanks for popping by.
Thanks for the return visit. This week’s theme is a challenging one, that’s for sure.
janet
Well, you nailed it! I need to but my thinking cap on or something. Ugh!
This was probably one of the most difficult themes to date. I was lucky in that I happened to look at the frothy topping and think of my leaf photo.
janet
NIce choices. This is a hard topic! 🙂
Glad you liked my choices. This may be the most difficult challenge yet!
janet
I agree. I didn’t do it. I need to take a look to see what I have! 🙂
Terrific, Janet ! – as original as always. 🙂
Thanks, M.R. I cherish that “as always.”
janet
So thoughtful, Janet, and picturesque too.
Thank you, Tish. Much appreciated. Hope your weekend’s off to a great start!

Good one for dialogue! I think this challenge was a challenge and the responses are so varied. Nice.
Thanks, Ruth. It was probably the most difficult challenge to date. I’m happy you liked my response.

I really love your interpretation of the challenge. Nice job!
Grace, thanks for visiting. I’m pleased you enjoyed my take on this challenge. It was a tough one!
janet
A perfect combination. Did you have to dig long and deep before you combined these photos? Very creative!
Marion, oddly enough, I didn’t. I was beginning to scroll through my photos, with NO idea of what I could do that would be apropos. When I saw the photo of the coffee, something clicked and I realized I had a photo that was so similar that it would be, to me at least, perfect. I was both happy and relieved, as I wasn’t sure what on earth I was going to do!
janet
Don’t you love it when some pieces fall together? 😀 See you next week!
I do and I will. 🙂
Great entry, if not one of the best! Well done 🙂
That’s an enormous compliment, so thank you very much. Appreciate your visit!

A perfect interpretation Janet! You are so good with these challenges!
how observant! great entry for this challenge.
Thank you, Kris.
janet
Nice response to the challenge. I’m sure that coffee design was inspired by some kind of leaf, maybe it was a gingko.
If it wasn’t, it should have been. 🙂 Although it might be a heart.
janet
The best theme interpretation I’ve seen this week.
That compliment made my day. Thanks so much!

Hi Janet, I’m just catching up a little. I have sent mail and hope you receive it soon. Hugs to you and Bill.
And I meant to send you an email and tell you that we got both cards and loved them. Both of us were thrilled!
Many blessings,
