The Weekly Photo Challenge this week is “Spring” and I’d love to link to it, but it’s disappeared from the Daily Post site. I’m going to put out my entry and hope to get an answer as to where the challenge went and how to get it back. Very frustrating!
Still trying but getting broken links everywhere. Trying for a pingback as well again here: http://dailypost.wordpress.com/?dp_photo_challenge=spring-2.

Beautiful colours – and glad you put it out there anyway because that is what we did 😉
We experienced the same thing with the broken link ….
I’m still having trouble posting my comment but I’m headed back to see if it worked. Quite frustrating! But thanks for coming by. I’ll be returning the visit at some point. 🙂

I am glad you were able to post your blog. Your pic embodies the meaning not only of spring but also the promise of new life and hope. I posted a blog a few days ago regarding this dilemma we were all having accessing the site and posting our entries. I just received an email message asking me to provide the web site address. The writer in tech support assumed that I was the ONLY one experiencing this access difficulty. I hope they will keep me posted on their findings and that WP will post a blog explaining to their users what the issue was all about and hopefully resolved.
I’m know everyone at WP works hard to get things right. I find it frustrating that you can’t email anyone to let them know. There were quite a few people having problems, but it seems to be fixed now and the bugs that were present the first few times appear to be fixed, too. I’m glad. I really enjoy the challenge and hate to feel annoyed when I get there. Glad you liked the photo, too. 🙂 Maybe the photo also epitomizes the new WP. 🙂

Absolutely spring. Lovely picture!
Thanks. Yours is, too. Have a wonderful weekend.
janet
Nice photo, yes that’s spring too. Great colors!
And a wonderful weekend!
Thanks. You have a great weekend, too.
That’s so spring! Wonderful colors on your picture.
Thanks, Archita. I just spotted it when I got back home this afternoon and when the prompt was “Spring”, I was glad.

Wonder what the deal is? I absolutely LOVE this color. The teal/turquoise is so beautiful. Lovely!
Imagine a nest of little eggs that color! It would be amazing. Thanks for stopping by.
janet
Love this!
Thanks, Julie! I was so glad I saw it (and that it was in a crack in the driveway so I didn’t drive over it.) Have a great weekend.
janet
Yup, the link is broken but this blue egg hopefully the robin has broken free.
I think it did and now WP is working as well. Life is good. 🙂
Have a great weekend.
janet
Lovely shot!
What a perfect pic! I Such a great shade of blue with the new growth.
What a great pic!!! I love it
I’m glad.
What a pretty spring image. 🙂
I’m glad you like it. It was a nice bright spot in a gloomy day.
janet
Well, you seem to be linked … A blue eggshell ? – is that from a bluebird ? 😀
Robin, I believe. The links are finally all working. Phew!!
How beautiful it is, and how evocative of spring !
Now if we could just get some sunshine and a bit of warmth.
Yes, I can understand your lack of enthusiasm, Janet … we’re in the same boat – but of course we’re heading into winter !

to leave the egg, that must be a great spring challenge – just before my window pane me and my cat are watching young blue tits crossing that threshold
I imagine the birds are glad the cats are inside! Leaving the egg is certainly a challenge for the baby birds. Thanks for the visit and enjoy the birds this weekend.

Your link works and the challenge is there on dailypost.wordpress.com. Have a look at the menu on the right side of their site and you’ll find it. Have a great weekend Janet!
Cardinal, by the time you got here, it had been working since late afternoon. But prior to that, I went to the site numerous time, went from the email, and so forth, but the links all came up as “not found.” Others I talked to had the same problem and some got on early but could get the links to work later. A WP person told me the link was broken. Then the link to the additional comments was also broken. But it’s all good now.
I feel bad about the two comments but because things weren’t working correctly, it appeared that the first one didn’t post and I couldn’t get to the page to check. Gremlins at work.
Have a great weekend, too.
I had no idea about all that stuff. Luckily it’s all good now 🙂
The most interesting picture I saw on this theme 🙂
Wow, that’s quite a compliment! Thanks. Makes it worth all the hassles I had to go through to get it on the site. 🙂
janet
Great colour combination!
Thanks for visiting, Andrew. I’m glad you liked it. There’s no color quite like that, is there?
janet
It is a lovely colour, it has inspired my post for tomorrow!
How lovely. Would you send me the link when you post it? I’d love to see it.
Sorry about the WP problems. Love your photo though!
Thanks, Hope. The problems are resolved now, but I spent much too much time trying to get things to work, time that I could have spent looking at photos. 🙂 Enjoy the weekend.
janet
Thanks for the link, Janet. Such a shame if I would have missed this gorgeous photo.
Bright blue eggs! Are they from a blackbird? For I can’t guess the size of it on this picture.
Could you solve the problem with WP?
Nevertheless have a sunny weekend.
-Dauw-
Dauw, the sun is shining brightly, albeit not too warmly yet and the WP problems are finally resolved by whomever solves them at WP. The egg is a robin’s egg, quite small but so beautiful. Thanks for visiting and I’m so happy you liked the photo. Enjoy your weekend, too.
janet
That’s quintessential spring to me 🙂 Great job!
Thanks very much, Mara. Who knows what was going on with all the broken WP links? I’m just glad it’s all resolved now so I can get back to visiting other photos. 🙂
janet
You’ve very welcome; I always enjoy your responses to the weekly photo challenge!
great take on spring,.. the mating songs are loud in Finland at the moment.
Reminds me of all the pigeon egg shells littering our indoor arena this spring. Though I must say I prefer the robin-egg blue … Lovely!
Good morning, Dorothy. The robin’s-blue is certainly a beautiful color, isn’t it? I was so happy the shell was in a spot where the van didn’t run over it. As for pigeons…well, they’re not my favorite bird, but geese are rapidly overtaking them as the bird poop machines I like the least. There are lots of them by the small lake in our housing area and their dropping are all over the walkway.
janet
Beautiful photo.
Thanks very much! I hope your weekend’s off to a sunny start as is ours.
janet
We had an awesome weekend here, after so much bad weather it was truly beautiful and we spent a lot of time outdoors.
🙂
Oh that BLUE! Thank you Janet, for the link…utterly enchanting… 🙂
Katalina, so nice of you to visit and to say so. The WP issues are over and I ended up with two comments with links because I couldn’t see where they posted, so all’s well. Have a glorious weekend!
janet
[…] This, that and the other thing […]
What a beautiful photo! I love the brilliant green against the blue of the egg shell. Very springy indeed!
It was one of the chance finds in a crack in the driveway (I’d just gotten home) and when I came inside and found out what the theme was, I was quite happy! 🙂
janet
this photo is sooo precious – the color and the content and, of course, the knowledge there is another robin birdy out there…. 🙂
Glad you liked it. It’s a beautiful color, isn’t it?
janet
Lovely and stunning image – love the composition and contrast of the colors and textures.
As for the link to the post: the DP post : try this:
http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/spring-2/
it should work just fine 🙂
Thanks, Patricia. The links began working late afternoon on Friday, but were broken for quite some time. I wasn’t the only one experiencing problems but all’s well now. Thanks!
janet
Glad that it worked out then Janet! I was late getting to this – so had no idea — ahh the WP ghosties at work again 😉
PERFECTION …!!! This is a great photo demonstrating Spring.
Very clever ….!!! XD
Thank very much, Izzy. I enjoyed your photos, too.
janet
wonderful shot…love the colours
Thanks very much, Jo, and thanks for visiting.

Such a lovely photo and great colors. I hope the baby bird made it ok! I hope you have better weather today! Thanks for your visit to me and I wish you a happy sunday!
Happy Sunday to you, too, Christina. I don’t know if the baby bird made it or not, but I hope so, too.
janet
Simply beautiful and a perfect reminder of spring!
Thanks very much, Meg. Your gravatar photo is very spring-y and makes me happy. I hope you’re enjoying your Sunday and that it is truly a sun-day.
janet
Beautiful color of spring. I like it 🙂
I’m glad! Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
janet
This is just a beautiful photo! Love the colors..definitely spring!
Glad you liked it, Dawn, and thanks for stopping in. Hope you’re enjoying the weekend.
janet
what a brilliant click – and happily linked to the weekly challenge post over at wordpress. glad it’s all sorted out for you now.
Thanks very much. Yes, the WP kerfluffle is all fixed now, thankfully. Hopefully next week will be smooth sailing. Thanks for stopping by!

That’s a lovely blue/turquoise egg. Did someone say in the comments it’s a robin egg?
I did. It is, as far as I know. 🙂
Oh what a lovely choice! Was it really a baby bird, or was it formerly an easter egg?!?!? Did you find the Daily Post challenge? They had a real issue when they changed to the new format but I’m getting it again now. Hope you’ve worked it out.
Yes, it was a robin’s egg, or what was left of it, just tucked into the crack between the asphalt of the driveway and the concrete sidewalk. If it hadn’t been there, it would have been crushed.
I finally found the post in my mailbox, but couldn’t get any of the links to work. I got on through someone else’s post, but couldn’t get anything to work. I found out I wasn’t the only one but it was quite frustrating. Eventually it all worked.
