Yesterday we enjoyed a morning of over 100 classic VW’s, ranging from vans, to Beetles, Kerman Ghia’s, Things, and more. Having owned a ‘74 Super Beetle for years, I was thrilled. I wouldn’t scorn taking this beauty on the road and stopping for lunch along the way, preferably somewhere with a view.
Taking a break

My very first car was a VW Beetle which included carrying a blanket because it only had heat from the engine. 🙂
In the Midwest, and anywhere there’s snow and salt, the heating tended to rust out. That didn’t help either. I loved mine, so this show was pure joy.
My first car was a VW Beetle… oh the sound of an air cooled engine!
Nothing like a Beetle!
We had three beetles growing up. All three were light blue. Air conditioning was turning the wing window in while driving.
Ha! I get that. Mine only had a AM radio, but oh, how I loved that car!
How incredibly cool! ✌🏻
Isn’t it? I would so drive one of these around for vacation…unless going up really bad roads.
so fun
It was so much fun seeing all these vehicles and this one was a real beauty.
That’s cute! I’d want that with 4 wheel drive though.
Good luck with that! However, my Super Beetle went all over the place in places cars couldn’t go. I figured if I ever got stuck, I just get four big guys to pick it up and put it back on the road. 😁
16 arm drive! LOL! That would work!! 🤣
😆
At first quick glance, I thought it was a food truck, LOL! How cool to see these beauties restored, Janet! My cousin in Portland (whom I just visited) has her late-husbands three VWs, and after he passed 3 years ago, she finished the last tweeks on the bus and went camping in honor of his memory.
A real home from home.
Yes!
It does seem idyllic.
Lovely shot, Janet.
Thanks, Resa. It’s the small version of traveling with a camper or RV.
