I’m off again this morning for the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. It’s a city filled with photo ops, as is any city, and I’d like to share a few shots from our time there over Thanksgiving. Enjoy your walk and bundle up. It’s cold.
The famous Love Stamp sculpture and historic City Hall flank the Christmas tree at the German market…
Spotted at PAFA on the print floor…
Downtown…
One of Philadelphia’s many murals…
Christmas decorations in a window…
Another mural…
Christmas train at Reading Terminal Market…
Love the blurred train, Janet! Very fun shot!
Thanks, Cathy. It was interesting trying to get a shot over a/o around the kids who were swarming the area. 🙂

did you go see the nutcracker show on the giant wall in what used to be wanamaker’s? i think it’s macy’s now.
No, I didn’t know anything about it. We went to the Christmas Village, though.

it’s in the galleria, i think. it’s a long-time traditional holiday light/animation show. low tech, but it tells the nutcracker story. well, when i last saw it, it was low tech but nostalgic.
There’s always good stuff to see there – no matter when you go! Love the red window and the plane’s swoop. Cool stuff for sure
I’m looking forward to whatever I’ll see this weekend, too.

I love Philly, lived there for a few years in the late 80s…
I’m glad you could take a little trip back with me.

After Graduating from Univ of PA, I taught 5th in Philly before teaching GATE in Cheltenham. A lifetime ago. Quite enjoyed the stroll down memory lane. Great shots. Cccccold there now.
It’s warmer than it’s been in Chicago, so I’m enjoying the relative “warmth.”
Right! Getting frostbite just thinking about Chicago.
Nice Philly images (I’d hate to be poor old Billy Penn standing on top of City Hall in this weather!) – and I love the train rushing past its street set!
The train was in Reading Market. Billy’s probably a bit cold and getting snowed on right now. It will be interesting to see how much there is by morning. Thankfully I’m here until Tuesday morning by which time I hope everything’s cleared up between here and Cleveland, our first stop, and then between Cleveburg and Naperville.

Oh, my kids would love that train set at the store with a winter setting.
It’s a huge train at Reading Terminal Market and yes, kids love it. Me, too. 🙂

I have an intense memory of Philadelphia.
Hopefully intensely good, Tom.

Most of the time – YES!
