If variety is the spice of life, it was a spicy day in Philadelphia, even though I had little time for shooting doors on this trip. Eating spicy food has been linked with living longer. Not sure these doors/gates will help with that, but you may enjoy your time more.
This is one of the most unusual gates I’ve seen.
Notice the two dogs at the bottom on either side?
You can never have enough Christmas or red doors…or both.
for Thursday Doors
A little spice for me thank you, and I do like the red doors with the wreaths the best. 🥰
They’re a bit washed out, but still quite cheerful. I’m a bit of a spice wimp, so I’m hoping that just having spice within my limit is still healthy. 🙂
I like the first one!
I agree that’s a good one, Aletta. The gate in the second shot is quite nice, but it’s difficult to get a good shot because there’s so much behind it.
Yes, it will be a difficult one to photograph
Hmm, I used to eat quite a lot of spicy food, not so much now…time to change!
My husband loves spicy food; me not so much or at least not very spicy. Guess I’ll have to work on that a bit.
I do love spicy, but can’t eat too much chilli these days, sadly! And I don’t want to be faffing about with recipes as much these days,…
Nice red doors, beautiful ornate gate, but that first one takes the prize. 🙂
I loved that gate, too, Judy.
These are great doors, Janet. I love the gate and that low-arch transom window over the last door.
It’s not a great picture of the gate, but it is a great gate.
It’s hard to get pictures like that, unless you can move all the parked cars and stand in the middle of the street,
True.
If eating spicy food makes you live longer, I’m gonna live forever! The hotter the better! I thought the leaf door was very original………looks like it goes to a greenhouse or something.
The photo does make it look like that, but the gate led to the yard and the greenhouse was a bit back. It’s a cool door, isn’t it?

I like them!
I’m glad, Andrew. 🙂 Thanks.

What a beautiful door with the leaf shapes cut out of it. I would like to have that one in my garden.
I really liked it as well. 🙂 It would be perfect for a garden door, a hidden garden perhaps.

I love those gates! Especially the one with dogs and roses. ❤
That gate is spectacular, Marian. I would love to have one like it.

Great doors this week. Those leaves on the first door look really interesting.
Thanks. Glad you liked them. Those leaves really make the door special, don’t they?
janet
Wow, loving that first door 👍🏼
I’m glad. I love that one, too, although that second gate is quite something as well.

Oh glad you mentioned about the second door. I had to look at it again and noticed how intricate the design is. Oh and I saw the dogs as well. Thanks Janet.
Thanks for taking another look. 🙂
Another vote for the first one here, I really like the cut-outs in that one.
Great way to make a simple door special, I think.
Read you have snow …you probably wish you were in Arizona already:) Beautiful fenced door here. As well as the wrought iron fence, and who does not love French red doors? A great door post, Janet!
I’m reveling in the snow, Jesh. Walked at the park this morning and was the first one on the newly fallen snow and it was still snowing a bit. It was gorgeous and I’m so thankful we had a good snow before we left. Haven’t had much this winter.
The second grill gate is lovely. Metaphorical with Life , we have barbs as well as roses,
Indian temple doors are quite exquisite, if you get a chance to focus on them.
Yes, that second gate could be a metaphor. No Indian temples near me, though. Thanks for the comment. 😊

I love the iron gates: and spicy food. I cook with lots of different spices, including chilli, but am not crazy about too much chilli heat.
I made the unknowing mistake once of buying chili power at an Indian store. It was just regular, not hot, at least according to the signs and labels, but even my husband, who love lots and lots of heat, could barely eat it in the chili and I gave up altogether. 🙂
The wrought iron is amazing! Thank you, Janet!
I’m happy you like it as much as I did. There are some amazing artists of all sorts out there. Of course, you have to have the money to buy from them, but it doesn’t detract from their talents.
Agree!
Nice selection for a spicy day!
Good for what ails you, Brenda. 🙂

These are great, all very different. I love gates 🙂
I do, too, Joey. Glad you enjoyed these.
