It’s been quite a year, hasn’t it? For a year where we weren’t really supposed to do much of anything (or anything fun), it’s somehow flown by and it’s already the end of November…which in the U.S. means it’s time to give thanks, albeit in smaller groups this year.
Even though it’s easy to think about what we don’t have and can’t do, here are some things that came to mind that call for giving thanks.
Give thanks if you…
…are reading this, because you have a computer/laptop/tablet a/o phone or access to one.
…are healthy.
…have family and friends who are healthy.
….have family and friends whom you can visit in person/via some sort of other technology.
…have a job (if you want/need one) or are retired.
…have a home.
…have food.
…have access to health care if you need it.
…have books/e-books/cable/some sort of entertainment.
…have transportation of some sort.
There are many more reasons to give thanks, some that are particular to you. Even though the Thanksgiving we celebrate today is only official in the U.S., I encourage each you to take a moment to think of the reasons you have to be thankful. Happy Thanksgiving or happy thanks-giving and let’s remember those who are truly suffering due to this pandemic and see what we can to do help them.

we are thankful today, that it came not much more worse… have a good thnksgiving ..
π We had a good day.
Very well said, Janet Have a good Thanksgiving
Thanks, Sue. It was a good day.
Happy thanksgiving, Janet. Have a great day. And thatβs a lovely post – both image and words
Very true words, Janet. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!
We had a low-key but lovely day. π
Sounds right up my alley!
Janet – so well said, and as we know, the list can go on and on. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! …. and now I want some grapes. Fortunately, we have some. π
We didn’t try the grapes but the wine was quite good. π Yes, a list of blessings is almost always quite long.
I did have some grapes earlier today, and we had an excellent wine with our meal today! Cheers!!!
Happy turkey day, Janet. Gray, dark, and rainy here, but we need rain so although I’d sure prefer some sunshine, we are thankful for the moisture.
I hope the day went well despite the rain. We could use rain here, too, so I’m glad you got some you needed.
I agree. it is good to think of the good things, Have a great Thanksgiving! I will continue with my normal Thursday π
I hope your Thursday was great.
it was ok, watching tv π
Happy thanksgiving Janet!
Thanks, Aletta. It was a good day.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Bill, Janet.

And I hope you and Jan had a wonderful day, Rochelle.
Happy Thanksgiving. There are always things to be thankful for.
Yes, there are. I hope your day was blessed.
Spent Thanksgiving with just the two of us, but it was a blessed day.
Good.
I have so much to be thankful for. I won’t begin to list them here, but my heart is full. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Janet! xx
That’s good news, Deborah. I hope you had a wonderful day.
Thank you, Janet! It was a lovely day. I hope yours was too.
Low-key but good.
π
Yes, very thankful!
I am as well, Rebecca. π
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
And to you as well, JT.
Happy Thanksgiving, Janet. You’ve given us a reminder that so many things that we might take for granted are, in fact, things to be thankful for.
There are always lots of things to be thankful for, aren’t there? I hope you had a wonderful day.
We did π
Great list, Janet. There are many things we can be grateful for if we just think a minute. Thanks for that and for all you share with us. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I hope you had a wonderful day filled with blessings, Janet.
lovely post, Janet. thank you. Happy Thanksgiving! π
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, Wilma
a killer image, Janet:) We both have our first Thanksgiving in a new state! Am thankful that we are at the place God wants us, even though we are still in the ‘settling in” stage:)
That’s always the best place to be, isn’t it? π
nice to read your list about giving thanks π
Thanks, Yvette. It’s all too easy these days to focus on the negative and something like this helps me keep my focus in the right place…at least usually. π
Yes – I like how you said “at least usually” π
I’m usually optimistic, but even I can get a bit down/overwhelmed by it all every so often.
yeah – we sometimes call it “hoy” – for “heavy on you”
– or sometimes say “heavy” –
and I noticed Toby Mac says that in one of his songs
“last night pt the heavy on me”
—
anyhow, when that heavy creeps in – sometimes a fresh walk with a few prayers does the trick – and other hacks of course – but that was my go to on a recent heavy feeling morning – worked so well π
Yes and I love Toby!!
π I knew you liked him
I am thankful, Janet! I ticked off all of the things you mentioned. Hope you are doing well, and that next Thanksgiving will be more traditional!
We’re doing well, Resa. Thanksgiving was fine. We called Christmas off so as not to put our girls and son-in-law at risk and the one sister-in-law that always comes has health issue. So Christmas will be different but we’ll spend it with my parents and my brother and his family. Have to protect those we love.
Agree! It will be Norm, myself & the cats this year! π
I think we’ll try to set up a Zoom for some time on Christmas Day so we can all raise a glass and maybe open a gift or two together. But I haven’t had Christmas with my parents for many, many year, so that will be fun.
Sweet! Cheers!
Thankyou for the reminder π
My pleasure. I was reminding myself as well as my readers. π
