Welcome to another Wednesday, the first one of October, if you can believe it (and even if you can’t.) If I could find a time machine, I’d slow time down a bit, but all my local sources seem to be sold out.
Today’ Photo Challenge theme is “Pedestrian”, which gives several possibilities for interpretation. My laptop is moving at less than the speed of a pedestrian of the human kind, unfortunately, but I can’t send you a photo of it happening, so I’ll have to look elsewhere for inspiration.
I spend much time as a pedestrian of the walking kind and there are many shots you can’t get unless you’re taking your time. Walking around Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles at night allowed me to take this anything but pedestrian photo of the city.
Nicely done!
Thanks, Dan. It was quite something being up there with this view!

I can imagine. It’s hard to capture in s photo, but this works.
Looks like the stars are on the ground this night.
Ω
They were, Allan. It was an amazing view and worth the walk we had to take to get there from where we had to park and dealing with all the other people there on a free night.

My, you were off the mark quickly, Janet. I struggled with this one. Lovely shot.
When I went to link up, the pingbacks weren’t working, so it took me even longer. But it was a more difficult challenge.
Lovely! Bright lights are always so hard to capture.
I didn’t have a tripod and didn’t really know how to use my camera, so I just rested it on a wall and held it as steady as I could. So I was more than pleased with the way it turned out. 🙂

[…] Today I challenge Janet at This, That and the Other Thing blog. […]
Hi Janet,
I was asked to play along in Seven Day Challenge challenge for black and white photos. I hope you have the time to play along. If your life is too full, I totally understand.
Oh yeah, I bet you would like a link to my post.

🙂
Thanks, Cee. Let me think about that. Someone on FB already challenged me to participate there. I may participate, but not on sequential days. Hopefully that wouldn’t beak the rules. 🙂
I doubt it. I may skip the weekend too. 😀
Brilliant shot, Janet 🙂
Thanks so much, Tish. It was a marvelous night and the best of view of a large city, as far as I’m concerned: at night and from a distance. 🙂
I share your sentiments 🙂
Gorgeous. Amazing what we see when we slow down a bit, huh?
I do a lot of walking, so I see lots of things that people are going to miss. I had a treasure of choices for this challenge once I decided which direction to take. I’m glad you liked this one.

Most beautiful pic of the year
❤️ I wish! So nice of you to say so.
janet
Janet?? Is this your name??
It is.
Alright
Fantastic view ,certainly not “pedestrian” in the very ordinary meaning of this word…
But it was taken by a pedestrian. 🙂 Thanks, Pauline.

Ha ha
🙂 Dear Janet,
first thought that came to my mind when I saw your picture was “Los Angeles!”. Gosh, this view always makes me want to pack my bag and fly over.
Thanks for the image. Wish I were there right now.
Have a very HAPPY day 🙂
Claudia, I’m happy you enjoyed it so much. That makes me HAPPY. 🙂
Wonderful shot. Beautiful vista.
Randy
Thanks, Randy, It was a gorgeous sight.

Beautiful picture Janet!
Thanks, Nicole. It was quite a view. I don’t think it would have been as impressive during the day.

Amazing view Janet. It’s beautiful.
It was wonderful to see.
I wish I could see that
I simply adore seeing the city lights from afar. So many people out there, so many stories… There’s something comforting knowing that they’re all out there, no matter who they are or what they’re doing.
And you’re free to imagine as much as you like. It’s magical.

Reminds me of the movie LaLa Land that we just watched. L.A. is not for pedestrians that’s for sure.
What an interesting photo. I hope you sort out your computer problems.
It was a WordPress problem, Suzanne, not (thankfully) my computer. 🙂

Brilliant capture, Janet! The view is just beautiful.
It was breath-taking, Anita.
Lovely photo! Have the feel of NASA satellite photos! 😀
I didn’t think of that, but you’re right.
janet
fantastic view!!
That it was. Thanks for enjoying it with me.

Beautiful.
Thanks, Irene. It was quite a sight.

Stunning shot, Janet. I love night shots like yours. Great choice.
Thanks very much, Lucile. I usually only have my phone, which doesn’t do night shots as well, but this evening, I had my Nikon, too. (And managed a phone shot or two as well.)
Janet, these are the lucky moments when we have the right camera with us and make those shots.
Chapeau.
I like nighttime city photographs. The lights sparkle brighter than stars. Great job capturing them, Janet.
I like them, too, Issy, but haven’t been all that successful at capturing them. I was quite happy with this attempt.
That’s atmospheric! Amazing how city lights convey density of population.
And all without having to actually be in the city with all the people 🙂
janet
Wonderful shot, Janet 🙂 🙂 Fulla sparkle!
It’s a view that just makes my heart fill with joy.
Amazing done
Thank you.

Wow, what a great shot.
I’ve only been up there during the day and the view is uninspiring in the afternoon. But this shot is beautiful. I’ve got to get back there at night sometime.
I think that most cities look their best at night with all the lights. LA certainly does.
