Today’s theme is “Liquid.” We’ve been getting lots of that recently in the form of rain, rain, and more rain, although this shot of a flooded parking lot was taken some years ago. I know some of you have seen it and a few have written a 100-word story about it when it was a prompt for Friday Fictioneers. But it’s still one of my favorite photos and, I think, just right for today’s challenge.
In contrast, I offer a macro photo which has been the most popular post on my site in all these years and one I love as well. Enjoy!
Wonderful!
Thanks! 🙂

Gorgeous!!
Thanks. I have so many shots of drops, but this is one of the very best.
janet
Indeed!
A beautiful raindrop Janet! :o)
Many thanks. 🙂
Love the shopping cart, something so ordinary but you’ve made it fabulous.
When I got to the store and saw that cart all alone, I have to whip my phone out and capture it. It was something that really touched my heart and I’m so glad you enjoyed it as well. Thanks!
janet
Timeless beauty in both photos, Janet.
Ω
Appreciate that, Allan. Your shot today is just amazingly beautiful.
Thank you.

That’s a lovely droplet photo. I’ve never taken one myself. Did you use a special, lens?
I used my iPhone, Georgie, for both shots. 🙂
janet
Wow! Impressive! I don’t use my iPhone camera very much, I prefer to use a ‘real’ camera, but on some occasions it’s very useful.
The majority of the photos on my blog were taken with my iPhone 5s, the rest with my Nikon. The two best things about the phone camera are that it can easily go with me everywhere every day and that it’s actually quite a good camera.
Ive got an IPhone 5s too! But I hardly use it. You have inspired me to try it out more often!
Good! Go for it. You can always get rid of the shots you don’t like.
Both are beautiful. I remember the top one as a Fictioneer prompt. Well done, Janet.
I knew you’d remember the prompt, Sandra. Glad you enjoyed them both.
Excellent choices for today. What wonderful contrasts. Love shopping cart what a story it tells isolated sad but presant.
If I’d only used that one, I think my title would have been “Abandoned.” Thanks, Carol.
janet
Indeed. And I feel abandoned seeing it.

the drop one is sooo cool ❤
Thanks so much, Pia. I was happy I had my phone with me that day.
janet
I never let it go out of my site 🙂

Both photos are absolutely stunning Janet!

Very nice pics!!
Thank you.
janet
Both are wonderful, Janet, but that drop is amazing!
Dan, I was thrilled when the shot turned out to be exactly what I saw, especially as I was using my iPhone. Thanks very much.
The world in a dewdrop! Nicely down.
Many thanks, JT. That’s what it looked like to me, too.
janet
Perfect both – and I love that first one. Perfectly OK to see it more than once.
🙂 Glad you enjoyed them, once or more than once. A good photo can be viewed with pleasure over and over.
janet
True –
You certainly are able to showcase your exceptional photography skills with these two shots. 🙂
Thank you very much, Judy. 🙂 Much appreciated.

The top picture, with the shopping cart, is very cool. Poor shopping cart! The second one, reminds me of a plant we have on our porch, like a cactus. but when it rains, every leaflet holds a drop of water in its center like a jewel!
Thanks, Mark. That plant sounds like one I’d look at every time it rained…and would have numerous photos of it. 🙂
janet
Both are apt for the challenge. I remember the first, and the second is just as intriguing. Well done.
I’m happy you like them both, Sally. Thank you.
janet
Liquid: beautiful vastness, and the reflection and some depth..
Macro: I just love it! 🙂
Thanks! I love macro, too. It’s such a different way of seeing things.

Great shots – I particularly like the first one.
Thanks, Suzanne. I appreciate you dropping by. Hope all’s well in your part of the world.
janet
Yes, things are going along as expected down here. That’s always a quiet kind of blessing isn’t it. 🙂

Beautiful pictures, both. I can’t seem to decide which one I like better – they each evoke different feelings and thoughts in me. 🙂
It’s perfectly fine to like both, Anita. As you say, they’re very different, except that they both have water in them. 🙂
janet
Really cool shots!
Thanks very much. 🙂
janet
The second shot is stunning Janet, but the first is really poignant and rather sad. Both great for the theme.
Thanks a lot, Su. I’m glad you enjoyed both of them despite the very different feels.
Nice! Can understand why your macro photo is so well loved 🙂
Thanks, Gale. Nice to see you. I hope all’s well with you.
janet
You are very welcome and all is well!

Nice choices, I like that both feature reflections.
I like reflections almost as much as drops. 🙂
janet
Both are wonderful images! I love the reflection of the shopping cart, and the refracted image of the tress in the drop on the flower. Wonderful work Janet!
Praise from the praiseworthy, Deborah, is always appreciated. 🙂
janet
I really like how you captured the water drop. It holds its own picture while everything else is out of focus.
Thanks! I’m happy you like it.
janet
Both your photos are so fitting for the theme and I love them both for different reasons. The shopping trolley with its reflection made me think of loneliness whilst the macro water drop was just beautiful.
Thanks very much, Irene. Nice to see you. I hope all’s well with you and yours.
Thanks Janet. Yes all is good with all of us apart from being time poor. Hope all is good with you also.
