Another month has begun. The weather in Chicagoland is typically spring-like: warm, cold, rain, a bit of snow, sun, thunderstorm…mix and repeat. Underneath it all, I can feel spring waiting, edging gradually into sight. Daffodils and daylilies bravely poke their leaves out further each day. The cold is a little less frigid, a bit more cool. It’s coming and one of the blessings is the longer daylight. The downside is you have to get up earlier to catch a sunrise shot. The upside is you can enjoy this one while still in your pj’s, sipping your morning cup of coffee or tea. How good is that?

Nice shot, but you’d need hat, coat, scarf, and gloves here to capture that – 9 degrees. 🙂
Judy, this shot is from my files, not a current one. It’s cloudy here and 51, so I’m going to walk in the park this morning after a quick breakfast. In a few days, it’s going to be in the low 30’s or high 20’s. Still better than -9, though.

Wonderful photo janet!
Thanks, Kevin. It certainly doesn’t look like this this morning, as it’s very cloudy and windy. But I’m about ready to venture out for a walk anyway. Hope you have a great day.

Janet, we both fell the emergence of bring and hope. Your image cast those emotions with the rays of illumination. Nicely done. Happy Photo Challenge.
I wish it were that clear and sunny this morning, Sally, but we have thick clouds, so I’ll just have to enjoy the sun via this photo. 🙂 Have a wonderful week.

Gorgeous. really like the glow with the plants welcoming the warmth and arrival of the sun
(rain. rain. more rain….but not freezing and we can run out between drops. Ground needs to be soaking this up to prepare for summer)
Thanks, Phil. Today we’re back to clouds and wind, but I walked in the park as opposed to at the health club anyway and was happy to be back. There are sightings of green everywhere if you looks. 🙂 Rain is in the forecast for later today a/o tonight, but my concern is nights of temperatures in the 20’s forecast for later in the week and weekend. I hope the plants that are well up now, daffodils and day lilies, won’t freeze!

The flare or flower? on the right looks like a heart. Gorgeous. A friend in Chicago posted that there was no snow in the whole month of Feb. is that true?
Happy Monday
C
I believe it’s even more bizarre than that, Carol: no snow on the ground for January or February! We’ve had a bit now in March, although it didn’t stick for long. In winter, I prefer snow to the rain we got instead.

Beautiful!
Thanks, Tim, and thanks for taking the time to comment as well as visit. It’s always appreciated.

Looks like it’s going to be a nice day !
Unfortunately, this wasn’t today, Dan. But it was so bright and cheerful that I thought it would be good for a dreary morning.

What a glorious sunrays you captured, Janet! Well done!
Thanks, Amy. It was a day to gladden my heart, both as a photographer and as someone who love natue.
I can almost feel the warmth of that sun Janet. Glorious shot 🙂
It was a glorious morning, Su. 🙂

🙂 Beautiful picture! Looks like a lovely day.
And you have a very HAPPY week, dear Janet 🙂
It was a lovely day, but not this day or this time of year. 🙂 Quite cheerful, though, on a cloudy, windy day. You have a wonderful week as well.
Thank you! 🙂
Love the sunny shot, Janet…so glad to have gotten through crazy February…here’s to Spring! 🙂
I’m looking forward to it myself!

The light is fantastic! I truly expect to see a fairy or leprechaun to come out of the grasses.
They must have been well-hidden when I went by, because I didn’t see any. Maybe it was the sun in my eyes. 🙂

So pretty 🙂
Thanks, Joey. Hope you had a good Monday.

It was a strange Monday, but not bad. You?
It was a good day. Spent time working on taxes and will do so again tomorrow. That’s always exciting. 🙂
I don’t know if you’re good at sarcasm or good at the math!
Both. 😜 It’s not exciting, but it needs to be done and it’s always a great weight off my mind when it is.
Well good 🙂
I don’t do the taxes, I hasten to add. I just get them organized to send to our tax guy.
Ah, even better!
What a strange winter for us in the midwest! Two weeks of 50-60s and then a little snow, then today it was 65 and now it is thundering. Strange. Lovely pic Janet!
It’s one of those nutty springs, Nicole. But that’s why I thought this might be a nice photo for today, a taste of what’s on its way. 🙂
What a glorious photo Janet. It does my heart good to see it.
I’m glad, Suzanne. I know your soul is in need of good things these days. 🙂

It sounds heavenly. I’m an early riser – 7:00a.m. but it’s never early enough to ctach a sunrise.
This one is spectacular. I love coffee in pj’s. 😍
I understand, Issy. At least here you can enjoy all of them. 🙂
janet
And, I will. Thank you for posting them.
