Love the bird but not the frame. I think frames on digital art online make them look dated and they are distracting. I hope you don’t take offense. I felt like doing a rare thing on WordPress today by giving an honest opinion. I do love the image.

    i love your pic

    • Thanks! That day there was a lot of bird activity all at the same time, about four of these little guys and a cardinal, all going at it like crazy. The bush was shaking, as you can well imagine. 🙂

    • This bush is right outside out living room window, which is good for seeing what’s going on in the bush, but also good for the birds or butterflies to see me. 🙂 I have to be quite careful, so I move slowly and use the telephoto. Also have to be careful of any glare.

  3. That is one beautiful little bird. Great shot. 🙂

    • Many thanks, Judy. That bush has been a source of endless fun as I watch birds, butterflies, bees, and other insects on it from the comfort of the living room, often causing me to grab my camera and try to capture just a bit of that enjoyment.

Wow Janet, that’s quite a catch! Beautiful photo and different strokes for different folks but I like the frame. Looks more like a finished piece of art to me.

what a capture! pretty looking bird.

  9. No words necessary today. I like the touch of gray in the framing.

I’m so glad I read through the comments and noticed Jo mentioned the lilac colour. I was seriously thinking “what cool plumage” 😀 It’s a beautiful shot Janet.

I’m ambivalent about frames too, and I think this photo would work either way. It certainly doesn’t detract from my enjoyment of the image!

    • Thanks, Su. I’m glad you enjoyed it despite the frame (or because of it.) Sometimes I like unedited, sometimes it’s fun to play. It’s the same with frames and of course you can’t please everyone all the time. Thanks for taking time to read comments and comment yourself. 🙂

Thanks Janet. I think in this case, I like the image so much I didn’t notice the frame. It was only reading Sherry’s comment that made me take a second look.
