I tried absinthe for the first time this visit. It didn’t taste as all the way I thought it would (which is probably a good thing.) The ritual of getting it ready to drink is a big part of the fun.
I know it’s supposed to be absence, but I’m pretty sure enough absinthe would do the same. 🙂 I’ve also used “Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder.” Hee, hee.
That holds the water. You put a sugar cube on one of the silver “trowels” with the absinthe in a glass underneath. The water gets poured in and then drips out over the sugar cube, melting the sugar into the absinthe. Then you add the water and drink. The amount of water will determine how strong it is!
That looks very naughty! Almost as naughty as our afternoon entertainment, Janet 🙂 🙂 Happy weekend!

Happy weekend to you as well.
Hehe. Always liked that line. I haven’t tried absinthe — I really must one day.

Haven’t tried it yet. Maybe some day… 🙂
a very HAPPY weekend to you!
Claudia xo 🙂
I was leery of trying it but did this year. It was interesting, rather vegetal. I brought back a small bottle for my husband.
A happy weekend to you as well, Claudia.
Whew! I’ll never try that drink……… unless I am promised that I will draw like Toulouse Lautrec. 😀 😀
😉🥰
Vegetal, eh? What vegetable, though? Beets? Brussels sprouts? Carrots? Lettuce? I’m intrigued!
Ha, no specific veg thankfully!
That’s supposed to be a powerful liquid.I really like that jug.

Absinthe. Yes. *briefly misses the misspent summers of her youth*
Ha! You wild and crazy thing.
