The next door ranch was sold a few years ago and now all the buildings stand empty, our association has the right to ride through. Just remember that a gate that’s closed should be closed after you go through and if it was open, leave it open. The horses tend to be on high alert whenever riding through and if ever a gate blew open or something popped out from behind a building, you’d better hope you’re holding on or you’ll be walking.
This first door is a door for horses or animals, but we don’t discriminate at Thursday Doors! (Don’t want to get sued.)
I could have gotten a better angle on this door but I was on horseback, so I took what I could get.
Lovely!
I love that rustic cabin look, although these really are rustic, but were working buildings for many years.
A very interesting place. Your capture of the doors was very good. Yes, if a gate is closed, it should be closed after you pass through.
The gate thing is the rule of the range. Leave it open and you may be letting cattle or horses out of or into places they shouldn’t be. 🙂
Best angle ever – riding. 🙂
🙂 So true.
I wouldn’t have gotten down either. Horseback view is wonderful.
And once I’m on the horse, I try never to get off until the ride’s over, although there are some gates that are unopenable from horseback. The trick here is that many of the horses are skittish around these scary buildings. I don’t want to be suddenly sitting in the air or drop my phone in an attempt to stay one. 🙂
Nice view from up there, plus I love log buildings 🙂
Pretty much nothing but logs buildings of various cost here, Norm, so you’d love it. The back of the horse provides a view I pretty much always like. 🙂
Just admit it, the horse wasn’t as interested in the door as the rider – very well captured. 🙂
The rider was interested in the doors and the horse was interested in watching for any terrible monsters that might shoot out and scare her. 🙂 That meant the rider had to pay close attention while taking the photos!
How nice!
It is, Aletta. 🙂
that is lovely! 🙂
Thanks, Lola. 🙂
Wow, really nice log buildings. =)
Thanks, Brenda.
This is lovely.
Thanks, Teresa. 😊

Great ranch doors, Janet! For a long time, I thought our next house would be in Arizona – Phoenix, may be? But there is a reason why we re in Texas. Still, if you happen to come around Austin, consider yourself invited, and we have a few spare rooms, ….
I may take you up on that once I start traveling a bit more! Sent you an email via your blog, too. Why the move? Family?
I’d saddle up for that angle. Was that a carport now garden on the second image? That’s a cozy-looking cabin.
The entire ranch is abandoned now, so the plants are just growing there on their own. The building was probably not a cabin but a storage room or tack room and there used to be equipment in the space.
Haven’t ridden in 4.Ever!! Horseback envy has ensued.
🙂 Sorry about that. I’m thankful we’re able to ride every summer and in such a beautiful place.

Quaint!
🙂 Lots of that out west.
